They’re currently #74 in KenPom. Assuming they end around that spot in Net at the end of the year, it would be a Quad 1 loss, which wouldn’t be a bad loss.

Granted, 74 is the cut off for Quad 1, as #75 is Quad 2, which still would not be considered a bad loss.

To make it a Quad 3 loss, they would need to fall down to 136.

How the numbers break down:

  • Quadrant 1: Home 1-30; Neutral 1-50; Away 1-75.
  • Quadrant 2: Home 31-75; Neutral 51-100; Away 76-135.
  • Quadrant 3: Home 76-160; Neutral 101-200; Away 136-240.
  • Quadrant 4: Home 161-plus; Neutral 201-plus; Away 241-plus.
We will see how it all works out. I don't see them cracking the top 5 in the Big East... around .500 or a little better in the league is my guess. We had over 25 TO's against them and played horribly. We didn't have Kofi, but we should have won w/o him. Not sure how that will all factor in.

Michigan vs Arizona is at the half and U of A is up by 8 . The U of A game in 2 weeks in Champaign will be competitive for us.

Mizzou comes back to beat SMU in OT.

Well, it might matter if this was a case of being on the bubble. But if we take care of business, sure, this might be the difference between a 2 or a 3 seed, but who cares really. Marquette won't be a bad loss at the end of the year, merely a mediocre loss in an otherwise good year.

I think you're stuck in the old "If we beat Minnesota in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament can we squeeze into one of the Tuesday games?" mentality. That's over. Consider therapy.

Never have worried about us beating Minny. We have owned them for 30 years!

I hear your point, but I have concerns based upon what I have seen from top echelon teams including Purdue, UCLA, Villanova, Zags, etc. We will easily be top 4 in BIG Ten, but we really have a lot of work to be final 8 and as good as the top ranked teams so far. I have been to all Illinois NCAA tournament games since 1964 since when they have advanced beyond the first round. I am used to being let down, especially in the 80's and 2000 to 2006.

Dickinson looked like he was wearing concrete shoes. Totally outplayed by Arizona center.
