Ha! and if we played them at home 1,000,000, we would lose 275,000. Math is profound.Sure, but a 27.5% chance of a loss is still a pretty high chance of a loss. According to BPI, if we played Arizona at home 1000 times, we would lose 275 of them.

and/or the 2001 Lucas Johnson/Lute Olson game. Also: I think I’ll set the odds at -250 for some kind of replay or “flashback” of The 2005 Comeback being played on the broadcast. Especially if Illinois finds themselves down late.
they might even cue it up on the SFC big screen
Great moments are born from great opportunity. And that's what you have here tonight, boys. That's what you've earned here, tonight. One game.Ha! and if we played them at home 1,000,000, we would lose 275,000. Math is profound.
Awesome! Have fun at the game and be as loud as possible. I hope we beat Arizona.Decided on going to this game earlier today.
I'm more excited now than I was then.

Some more stats stuff:A very interesting international team, their top 7 scorers are from 7 different countries. From top down: Canada, Cameroon, Lithuania, Estonia, USA, Mali, Sweden.

Sure, but I just picked the smallest numbers that resulted in whole numbers to illustrate that predictions like this don't mean the other team has zero chance. There are still an awful lot of wins in the range of simulated games.Ha! and if we played them at home 1,000,000, we would lose 275,000. Math is profound.
No doubt more difficult to get wiretaps in foreign countries. I lived in AZ. when Lute was there, he made it corrupt. Only game in Tucson, makes UA basketball as big as professional sports. I have no doubt incentives are involved. Have been since Lute, and the Pastner involvement. No doubt pay more than amateur leagues in other countries.A very interesting international team, their top 7 scorers are from 7 different countries. Has any team really stopped Kofi yet? I think Grandison, Plummer, and Frazier will do what they do, and Kofi will too. Pac-ten has never liked Big Ten defense. Four points over WST, that Kst just beat at Wichita.Couple things
1) I think it is more of a coin flip game with our Illini with a slight edge. I've seen other projections as a 7 point loss (warrennolan.com Arizona - NET #3). Have your cold beverages ready and send your wife Christmas shopping.
2) I think this is the last game without Curbelo, as it would be tough to bring him back on this high level of a game. After that we have 3 should be bunnies before B10 gets going again
The pineapple bowl episode. His QB fakes an injury doing the limbo or something and comes in to throw the game winning pass. Terrible plot. Great show.Possibly "Whose Team Is It, Anyway?" season 1 episode 11? Craig T. Nelson is great.
I saw a competition high school marching band director who was an acolyte of the Herb Brooks school of coaching. It's a thing of beauty when it's done well.Great moments are born from great opportunity. And that's what you have here tonight, boys. That's what you've earned here, tonight. One game.
If we played 'em ten times, they might win nine. But not this game. Not tonight. Tonight, we stay with 'em, and we shut them down because we can!
And you were meant to be here tonight. This is your time. Their time -- is done. It's over. Screw 'em! This is your time!! Now go out there and take it!
--Adapted from Herb Brooks' speech to the 1980 USA Olympic Hockey Team before they beat the Soviets, showing that math can also be inspiring!
Best things happen when you concentrate on playing the game and not the score. Play the game well and the score will take care of itself.I think these are the 5 keys for the Illini to beating Zona or just about any other major opponent for the rest of the season:
1. Take care of the ball....12 or fewer turnovers per game
2. Take advantage of fast break opportunities, but don't get caught up in the hap hazard run and gun style of play for any extended period of time
3. Break the Defensive Pressure with passes rather than trying to dribble through the traps
4. The offense needs to go through Kofi.....get him the ball....he gets double, triple teamed then kick it out to Plummer, Trent, Grandson, Goode,
Hawkins for the 3.
5. Continue the excellent FreeThrow %....especially the finally 5 minutes of the game
we do these things and the W's will follow
The only team to stop Kofi this year has been the NCAA Legal Eagles, a third rate squad of crooks and scoundrels.Has any team really stopped Kofi yet? Well, although they have their own team represented in Olympics, Puerto Rico is not a country
Benjamin Bosmans-Verdonk is from Belgium
Kofi is from Jamaica
Curbelo, Plummer, and Melendez are from Puerto Rico
Grandison has dual citizenship (via mother, who is Finnish) and represents/plays for Finland
It is funny that CBS has no means to ID a foreign location - their software/DB only caters to US locations:

Yep! I like to think I influenced a few of the Sqwuak free throw misses here and there.Hey Lost, did you make the game last night? Did you enjoy it?!
Quite a drive from NE to IA City, how long of a drive for you?Yep! I like to think I influenced a few of the Sqwuak free throw misses here and there.
It's a weird arena but that's cool with me. It did look like stands were about 75% full at best.
Got a point and nod from a couple players during warmups which was cool.
10/10 seeing the Hawkeyes lose on their home court from the 10th row. Highly recommend, would do it again.
I think this belongs in the high school marching band competition thread.I saw a competition high school marching band director who was an acolyte of the Herb Brooks school of coaching. It's a thing of beauty when it's done well.
Almost exactly 4 hours.Quite a drive from NE to IA City, how long of a drive for you?
