Geez, not exactly surprised due to the nature of the injury as rumored, but the fact the answer for whether he'll be back at all this season is not a definitive yes probably means we're not all that close to having him back.

I'd be very happy with that, though I wonder how it can be predicted that precisely if it's the kind of post-concussive issue we've been hearing about. Unless perhaps he's mostly recovered and now it's about getting him game ready again?early January
that's around the time he SHOULD be back. He's getting closerI'd be very happy with that, though I wonder how it can be predicted that precisely if it's the kind of post-concussive issue we've been hearing about. Unless perhaps he's mostly recovered and now it's about getting him game ready again?
I interpreted that differently than you did. it sounded to me like he was pretty confident. I don't think you ever want to say anything definitive as a coach, but I interpreted it as "we're on schedule for his return". Curious to hear your thoughts on it thoughGeez, not exactly surprised due to the nature of the injury as rumored, but the fact the answer for whether he'll be back at all this season is not a definitive yes probably means we're not all that close to having him back.
I mean, pretty confident he'd play this season is how I interpreted it. I was thinking if his return is imminent, when asked the question about whether he'd play this season the answer would be definitive and not merely confident. I'm pretty confident it will snow in Chicago at some point this winter. That doesn't mean we're having a white Christmas.I interpreted that differently than you did. it sounded to me like he was pretty confident.
I can’t get the tweet to pull up. Early Jan to play or start practice?that's around the time he SHOULD be back. He's getting closer
Question from reporter was if BU fears AC will be out all season. This was the answer:I can’t get the tweet to pull up. Early Jan to play or start practice?
I asked the other day after the St Francis game. But I have never seen AC wearing glasses yet he put some on upon coming out on the court pregame. He wore them the who!e game so just wonder if the concussion/vertigo is or has caused him to have vision issues. Have heard this is not uncommon. I know its not BB but I have tried to wear my new glasses to play golf and cannot hit the ball what with them on. Would certainly explain his wild passing and shooting after the blow to his head.that's around the time he SHOULD be back. He's getting closer
He did not practice last week. I don’t know prior to that but would think not. It's encouraging to hear some optimism, but it's a pretty vague statement. Just hope he's able to fully recover and do his thing, whatever his timetable.
Has he practiced during his recovery? I would think that if he's on track to return soon, we'll hear good news coming out of practice.
I am equally scared and also worried and not for the team, but for ACThis is not good
You're right he is not but what he is is excellent and drive and dish. Right now there aren't a lot of guys on the team that can take the ball to the hoop and that is one of the key weaknesses in the half court. Right now they are reliant on feeding the post and kicking back out. I am a little surprised teams haven't either played zone or fronted Kofi to try to take that away.Obviously his health is the most important thing, and I hope he doesn’t set foot on the court until he’s 150 percent ready.
As a side note, I worry that as the team continues to forge its “4 out one in” identity with all the shooters plus Kofi that it becomes more and more difficult to plug Curbelo in the further this goes. He isn’t a good shooter.
Agreed, we need him. And we are definitely a better team with him on the floor.Point take, but there is no way I will concede that we are a better team without AC than with AC
When defenders can sag off Curbelo it blows up what we’re trying to do on pick and roll and clogs the lane. He’s a gifted player when healthy, but he needs to shoot respectably regardless of his role going forward. Our offense is potent right now based on all advanced analytics. You're right he is not but what he is is excellent and drive and dish. Fair point but this didn't seem to be an issue last year, when Curbelo also was a bad shooter. Our adjusted offense per Kenpom is a little worse at 11th this year, 8th last year. Our adjusted defense is 38th this year and was 7th last year. I know that no Ayo and the switch from Miller to Plummer probably has a lot to do with that, but is it possible AC did more on defense than he gets credit for? When defenders can sag off Curbelo it blows up what we’re trying to do on pick and roll and clogs the lane. I want to see him make goggles and a headband coolI hope when he does come back he wears goggles. Just because I think players look cool in goggles.
NIL cool........................I want to see him make goggles and a headband cool
