From a lesser level, but is originally from Belleville, so maybe some interest? Listed as 6-1, 180 pound CB. Finished year with 67 tackles (48 solo), a sack, a fumble recovery and 10 passes defended. Good enough for second team all-conference Mountain West.

What s going on at WYO? Are players having a problem with Bohl or are they wanting better exposure to the NFL?
They had a senior heavy team this year, and had a really good season. Finished off with a nice bowl win. But they are expected to have a huge fall-off next year.

That can't be right. We always catch these teams when they have their best year ever and we get our clocks cleaned.
Sure seems that way doesn't it... lol... They will still be pretty good for a MWC team, and they have a first class coach who knows how to get the most out of his players, but they are losing a ton of talent and that should be a winnable game for us next year...
Did Lovie never offer him? Or were we late to the party? Yikes.
Lovie gave up on recruiting by then, but I am guessing BB couldn't offer until recently due to taking Coach Hawthorne on staff. Would love to see us make some grounds to rebuilding that ESL pipeline (Dana, James, Hawthorne, Green, etc.)
Why didn’t offer Paris Patterson also?
Hopefully, that is coming as well. They also have a bunch of promising Fr/Soph (as always)

Ahhh good call. Didn’t realize that extended to offering but makes sense for BB. As you said, though, doesn’t let Lovie off the hook. We are in a much better position with our current staff.

Dave Monnot III of Purdue in portal. OL who played at Joliet Catholic was a low 3* in 2019 class. Number 2 on RG depth chart played in 4 games this year. Might be mistaken, but seem to remember Illini being in it til the end in original recruitment. No idea if he’d be of interest now.
Jacardia Wright Kansas St./ St. Teresa HS. Decatur in transfer portal. 2 years left, 6.1 225lbs. and fast. Would love him in our running back room! Watched him against Iowa St. And he would be great surprise breakout candidate. K St. Has 5 or 6 great runnin backs!

There's a lot of running backs on the roster right now (Brown, Hayden, Fedanzo, Anderson, Love, McCray, Norwood, Laughery). I doubt the staff uses one of their scholarships on adding another short-term running back.
Heard from someone close he is gonna go to a smaller school(SIU or similar)got recruited over at K-State is what i was told.

Good scouting of Illinois preps who leave the state then enter the portal at the first sign of trouble is going to be a very important skill for our program over the coming years. There will be lots of them every year, with a ton of upside to targeting the right ones and a ton of downside throwing away scholarships on the wrong ones.
Just in general, accurately pinning a value on the raft of “big recruit who barely played at a top school” types has rapidly become one of the most important thing staffs are doing. I have no idea what if any tape or other kinds of intel they may have access to.
