Football and The Wire. Great choices. I suggest The Sopranos and Breaking Bad. Oh and Illini basketball!
Marked them!
Illinois basketball for sure. It is just that I have been a basketball (mostly NBA) fan for almost... 20 years (since Yao get drafted)? So basketball is not a new hobby for me.

I came to the US in 2019 fall, and in 2021 fall I began to watch football games and The Wire. Both made me feel more related to the US culture, and cannot helping watching them now.
I guess you haven't known people who watch the 1st football game and The Wire for the 1st time in the 2020s in his/her 20s lol.
Never too late! Wish I could rewatch for the first time again.

Another add: Arrested Development

Our run in March will heavily depend on Omar and Coleman's contributions off the bench. Getting those 2 to quit doing stupid stuff is the key to raising our ceiling to the next level. Both just scream potential. Absolutely loved what I saw from both guys tonight, great win and all hail Trent Frazier!

I can think of a some recent Illini teams that would fold under that pressure tonight. BU has a scrappy team - no quit in them. That's nice to see. Nebraska gave us all we wanted but we're tough to hang with. Love to see us hanging tough late in a close game. Now for a couple Minnie-type blowouts. I like those too.
We worked through a trap game.

Looked like a tough game for awhile there. But quite a finish with Payne and Coleman, Trent and Williams, just a bunch of big plays to finish it so strong with Kofi on the bench. That was a team victory. Road wins in conference are just great.

29 pts on 18 shots, 5 assists to 1 TO, 4 steals… can’t wait till Trent has a “on” night!
The first half he was off. He was 4 for 10 from the field and possibly 1 for 3 from the line. The thing isn't about the total sum of the stat line versus what his capability given the same set of shots he can easily make. Trent could have had 40.

He seems to play within the game...unless the team needs more. We are better when Payne and Coleman aren't making earnest mistakes.

Nebraska took Ohio State to OT and eventually lost - so they really seem to be pretty good at home. I know its cliche, but winning on the road in the B1G can be a dogfight. Glad to get the W and move onto Michigan on Friday.

Was going to wait until everyone played 4 conference games, but Michigan is in no hurry to play more conference games, so here's an updated EM standings:

Illinois' insane EM lessened slightly today, but their EM today was effectively what MSU's has been for the whole season so far.

Nebraska still also significantly worse than anyone else so far.

Illinois has played 5 of the bottom 6 teams in EM so far (which likely contributes to why they are 5 of the bottom 6 at this point). The concern there is they are now done playing Minnesota and Nebraska for the season. The only non-quality game they have left is March 3 vs PSU.

Great run at the end. Let’s keep this going.

Hoping more than a Baylor upset, really hoping ToupeU and Satan would lose tonight.

The passion in college makes it so different than the NBA. It’s a bit more Raw but the guys playing have so much passion, it’s hard not to fall in love with it.
