Anyone know why Mich has been so bad this year? I thought they were loaded with 5-star recruits.
Michigan fans think it’s mostly coaching. They complain that he’s playing 3 PF’s at the same time all the time to try and get the highly rated recruits playing time. Houstan specifically seems to be playing poorly and/or out of position.

Watching the Co-Hawk interview. Around the 430 he talks about knowing who is in the paint, who is shooting and where it is going to go...I didn't play at a very high level, but I had no understanding of that. I know elite is a word that is joked about here because Brad says it so much, but seriously...could be elite.

Rankings, rankings, rankings....THEY MEAN ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, WHATSOEVER!

Play ball, win games, get better every game, and in the end, OUR SEED, will be what matters!
Do we need to have this conversation again? They are directly related to national exposure, which in turn helps recruiting and revenue. So they actually do mean something. Quite a bit, actually.

Watching Trent...I know when I hit 2 in a row, the next one is going up, for sure.:)(y):ah:

I think he means "ranking me nothing to me" To others, it is a personal affront as they discern that as fans wanting their team to win and give them personal satisfaction....or....they will feel disrespected. To me, I just don't give a fart in the wind about rankings....until the NCAA seedings. Those are unquestionably important. What I do care about is watching this team improve over a season to the point that they can beat anyone. This year has been a treat to all Illini fans. They are learning...all of them...what they need to do to help their team have a chance to win. Learning to play the game is a magical thing to watch and every team has to learn to do what they CAN do....which is different for all teams. These guys have been a joy to watch for this old man. But they can get better...to the point where the correct instant decision becomes the norm. Enjoy, Illini fans. Not sure when we will again see a team with this kind of potential...maybe not in my lifetime.

Good. May that trend continue for this season

How prepared could Juwan possibly be if he can’t even pronounce Kofi’s name. Seriously, after what he did to Michigan last year? He called him Coffee!!??
He should be calling him Mr. Coffee.

He's coming in with the full roster and having practiced for days is what I have found from their media
This looks like a trap game. We are over matched at the 3 & 4 positions. It is going to be a very tough game.

No chance this is a trap game, with them ducking last year, Dickinson talking trash about us and our lackluster outing against Neb. BU and the leaders of this team won't allow a letdown. I don't think this is a 20 pt. win but it won't be because of a "trap" We win by 11.
Maybe Nebraska was the trap game??

I can appreciate what you are saying. Why can’t we just enjoy our team for what they are? Let’s just watch the progress, be happy for our great group of guys, and cheer on our team. TBH, that’s how I got through the Groce years. The program has turned things around. Now, I want rankings, I want to see the program elevated, and I have high hopes for the future. I expect BU will get us back to our rightful spot as a perennial top 25 team.

It’s go time for Illinois.
After finally getting some Top 25 love – barely – the Illini will host Michigan and No. 7 Purdue in a span of four games. The opportunity to solidify their standing in the Big Ten's upper tier is at hand.

The Illini are off to a 5-0 start in league play. They are catching the Wolverines as they are battling COVID-19 casualties and scuffling to salvage their season.
Michigan coach Juwan Howard knows he will have his hands full Champaign. He noted that the Illini are doing a nice job of maximizing super-sized center Kofi Cockburn within their offense.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I would rather this be a 6 pm tip off , but I'll just take a nap break and be ready to watch the Fighting Illini annihilate the Coward crew from Chickentown USA

scUM can NOT ever be classified as a trap game ....their arrogance and haughty demeanor just begs for a beatdown , and as long as I live I will remember last year's Cowardly lion approach to cheat their way into a regular season bogus championship with the aid of the most inept commissioner of a
P5 conference in the country..........

They earned disdain and disliking from me a long time ago and everyday they reinforced my displeasure with anything maize and blue ....

I want to see a thorough dismantling of baby Huntie and the rest of their sniveling brats , sending on a losing streak lasting until the end of the year....

JMHO and general hatred for scUM............................

I just had to highlight this commentary from Borzello , a national pundit on college BB.........................

THE BASKETBALL DIARIES

Here is what folks are writing about college basketball:
Jeff Borzello, ESPN.com: “There weren't many programs in the country hotter than Michigan as the 2021-22 college basketball season began. The Wolverines were coming off a season in which they won the Big Ten regular-season title, came within a basket of the Final Four and Juwan Howard -- who was coming off winning the national coach of the year award last season -- had signed the No. 1 recruiting class in the country. A little over two months into the season, things have unraveled. Michigan, which entered the season ranked No. 6 in the country, has dropped completely out of the top 25 and sits at just 7-6 after losing three of its past four games. The Wolverines have one win over a team ranked inside the top 120 of the NET, and four losses by double digits. Perhaps the only reason Michigan's record isn't worse is the Wolverines went on pause due to COVID-19 issues and saw their home game against No. 10 Michigan State and road trip to No. 7 Purdue postponed this past week. Their next scheduled game is at No. 25 Illinois on Friday, when dropping to .500 overall is very much a possibility.”

What time is the scUM shoot around today? We should get some answers then. I, like BU, fully expect them to have everyone and Howard is just blowing smoke

The line is up to -10. What the heck?
I hope our guys aren’t reading that. I think Michigan is going to bring their best to Champaign and the roster will be full. I’d like to repeat last year’s beatdown. We’ll still have our hands full. Or maybe not.

Indiana allows it. I place my Illinois bets in Indiana, I'm there enough to be able to cash them out.
I got $20 on the O&B to win it all. Placed in Tennessee before Kofi came back. Hoping I have to worry about the logistics of cashing that ticket
