I'm actually excited for Payne and BBV, who presumably will play extended minutes in the absence of Kofi. (Sincerely, I hope this concussion protocol keeps Kofi out for as few games as possible.) They've acquitted themselves well recently, and I like seeing our players develop and get tested. (I really like seeing us win, too, of course.) Their minutes at this point in the season could benefit us at the end of the season and next year.
I already was anticipating more offensive production for the backup center with Curbelo back. I think it's fair to say that Payne and BBV have both struggled to create their own offense up to now. And fair to say that Curbelo excels at feeding dimes to the paint--whereas Frazier and the rest of the guards, for all their merits, are more likely to drive and attempt to score or else kick to a teammate at the 3 point line. Payne, for one, is a prime target for lobs. Keen to find out how the bigs' points per game, or even points per minute, changes.
