That was Kofi’s best defensive game as an Illini.
Indiana went on a little spurt after the weird Belo trip/Goode intentional sequence to go up 19-11. Illinois outscored them 63-38 the rest of the way.

I don’t want to jinx us, but it finally feels like everything is coming together for this team. Guys are healthy. We’re going 10 dudes deep in our rotation with freshmen giving meaningful minutes. Kofi is dominant. Trent is playing lights out. DMW doing the little things. Plummer and Grandison starting to hit shots again. Payne being a value-add in spot minutes. Hawkins making some great effort plays on both ends. Belo is a spark off the bench and getting his footing. Team (Kofi + Monte) really just needs to hit free throws at a higher clip and keep Kofi out of foul trouble. That’s it. Do that, and you’re a FF team.
To be clear, I love it too and specifically because it’s insulting. Like “you’re not worth the time” type insulting.
Yet another huge win, great way to start a Saturday.
