Nothing better than Road Kill involving one of our most hated rivals! I also enjoyed reading a few pages of their comments. While the Illini faithful can get a bit contentious with one another, IU's fans are in a tailspin and they are talking about the bubble. :shield:

No it’s not. Tons of bitchy Karen’s. Over emotional grown children. Cockburn is just better and so is Illinois. You think you don’t see other players not get called for travel and elbows? I’ll agree with us being spoilers. We are exactly where we were picked pre season. 5-7. We are who we are. Woodson threw everything he could at them. They are just better.
The bubble is not so far off with them especially with their next 4 games. If they play like they did today they will be 0-4. They better get it in gear quickly.

I like the IU fans booing because we are just killing the clock instead of running up the score? WTF
Their fans are a bunch of inbred morons . They refer to Purdue as "little brother" yet they stormed the court when they beat them this season . You just can't make this stupid crap up haha.

Awesome win. To go into their place and destroy them in front of their stupid fans was priceless.

Now that today's 5 game spread is in the books, here are updated EM standings:

Illinois has improved to be the top defensive team in the conference, passing IU. They're within .002 of their final season defensive efficiency of last season (and .005 shy of their offensive efficiency end of last season), so they're effectively playing about as well as they did last season against the conference.

Purdue clears some room between themselves and the rest of the conference, a clear 2nd overall now.

MSU took a nosedive today, but overall body of work has them about even with OSU, IU, and Michigan.

Michigan's results aren't good enough right now to make the tournament, but their efficiency is good enough to be a tournament worthy team right now. Still dangerous, but they need to string some wins together to make their results profile look decent.

Wisconsin continues to overperform their metrics by winning close games and losing blowouts, a recipe for a potentially high seed in March that is vulnerable to a good under-seeded team. If they land a 4-5 seed, look there for a potential upset.

Iowa hasn't played in a week since their game Thursday was snowed out, but they're back in action tomorrow basically treading water in conference, projecting as an 8-9 seed in many brackets right now.

Northwestern made Nebraska looked bad...well, worse than usual. Still nowhere near a bid, but their overall numbers were helped quite a bit with the performance today, and Illinois' road win there looks better as a result.

Maryland and PSU continue to play spoiler, but neither could manage wins this week.

Minnesota is still not good.

Nebraska, what can you say. Just when they start looking competitive, they lose at home to Northwestern by 30. At least they aren't Oregon State.
Thanks for doing this. Puts it all in perspective.

Thanks. I realize there is also doubtless a free way to do it, or more than one, but the ones I've come up with so far would take hours!
On the UI schedule page the box score has play by play with the time of every score. It takes about 10 seconds to see the score at 10 & 0 in both first and second half. You could do the entire season in about 10 minutes.

BTW in the Indiana game IU won the first ten by 7, we won the second ten by 5, the third 10 was ours by 1. Then the last 10 was ours by a lot.

Such a good day. Our beloved Fighting Illini stomp the Loosiers at their place AND Sparty gets destroyed by over 21 to Rutgers. As Ice Cube once said...

IU plays such a tough D, it has to take a ton of energy. We're just better. It remains to be seen if this IL team can be put in the same conversation with those past two teams. That's a very tall order. But this coach has them believing, and they are coming together.
I think we're already in the same conversation as the last two Illini teams ('20 and '21). None of the three won more than 1 NCAA tourney game. The real question is can we win a game or two in weekend #2 of the NCAA tournament.

Refs came out with two super ticky-tack fouls after half time, but then they really cleaned everything up. Nice change of pace! Anyone notice Damonte drives past his defender, gets that defender on his back, has an open lane to the glass and then Damonte just STOPS and looks for someone to pass to? That's gotta drive Brad nutz. In the second half he finally drove, no hesitation and went up to draw the foul. FINALLY!!! Please, please, please finish that drive and get the basket or draw the foul. Damonte is so quick and strong on the bounce... he just needs to finish. Nice to see him pulling the trigger a bit more from the arc too. Just a solid effort from beginning to end from this team. Very fun to watch.

Looks like he has a shot to be 4th at worse when the season is done and 3rd if the Illini make any sort of noise at all in either the BTT or NCAAs.

Probably take a Final Four run to get to 2nd.
At 13ppg he will almost certainly get 3rd with any respectable showing in the post season.
