But MI keeps starters in against backups and walk-ons pressing them with 15 seconds left.

It goes both ways and the second Coward did that he can't then complain when the opposing coach keeps you know.. coaching.

I thought the same thing. Gard called a time-out to get his players in. MICH kept starters and were playing aggressive defense and pressing. Gard then calked another time-out to settle the players.

I don't understand why everyone is acting as if Howard slapped the assistant coach for no reason at all. The assistant coach had a role in this. He wasn't a peacemaker and he put his hands on TWO Michigan players FIRST.
There is literally no situation here where it's acceptable for Howard to hit a guy. I think most here agree that the Wisconsin staff did not handle this well either, but Howard is the one who hit someone in anger and converted a heated argument into a brawl.

Woody Hayes was fired 24 hours after punching Charlie Bauman.
I don't have a dog in this fight. What I will say simply is any coach who has ever put his hands on a player or another coach has been terminated. Pretty simply put, almost immediately! There is no room in the college game for this. you do not even see it in the professional ranks he needs terminated and terminated immediately! that's my two cents take it for what you will. Sad day for something called a College Game...

Not sure if this angle was shared yet. Just not a good look, I don’t fully get the mental gymnastics of people attempting to defend Howard here. Most aren’t even Michigan fans.
I did notice Gard doing nothing as the fighting escalated. Seems lame that he would not be trying to break it up.. Almost like he is watching it on TV. Howard deserves what he gets but Gard is no angel…

I do not like Gard and hardly think he’s blameless here. He should have just rolled his eyes and said, “Okay, bud.” when Juwan said he wouldn’t forget the timeout. However, Gard’s petulance didn’t lead him to physically assault anyone, and Howard’s did; that’s the only difference, and it’s massively important.

Howard postgame....doesn't sound remorseful at all...

“I addressed with the head coach that I will remember that, because of the timeout,” Howard said. “Someone touched me, and I think it was very uncalled for, for them to touch me, as we were verbalizing and communicating with one another. That's what escalated it.”
Pathetic -sad for his players

Howard was not a victim. Howard committed assault.

If he had been a player he would loose his scholarship. If he had been a fan he would be banned for life from the stadium and thrown in jail.

My prediction is, unless a very legalistic apology is read tomorrow to the press, he has lost his job.

I liked that the band kept playing as the altercation was going on. And how Brad Davison wanted to be a choir boy.
Ya you would think Davison would have to have been in the middle of all that. Kind of reminds of when I was 16 and working at my dads gas station. An elderly woman would come in every week and get gas and as I would be washing her windshield her little dog would be trying to eat me thru the window. But when she paid me that dog would be in the farthest back corner hiding and shaking.

Listen, I hate Howard but looks to me like Howard tried to walk by and Gard stepped in front of him and grabbed his right arm to stop him.

Narrator: "There wasn't."
Well, it was worth a try.

Then how ‘bout this: “Let’s all go to the recruiting board and see a baby farting baby powder!”
