Coward did WHAT ??.......................................Damn , I do him a favor last year and this is how he repays me...........Damn Bigfoot looking dumb***...................

View attachment 15579

OK , after reviewing the video and talking to all parties concerned ...........I have made my decision ..................................

Mr. Coward is required to write ""I will not curse at or b**ch slap any other coaches in the B1G this year , 1000 times ........This mandate does NOT preclude Mr. Coward from cursing or b**ch slapping coaches out of conference or picking up live basketballs in games played in any post season tourneys , if they can qualify for any tourneys........

I know this may seem harsh to many in the B1G but I felt like I had to make a statement here..........I'm also awarding the game today between scUM and Wisky as a forfeit win for the scUMmers as that last timeout by wisky was a taunting issue by wisky and caused the fine young fighters, oops , I mean athletes from scUM great disrespect ........

My ruling is final , unless mr . Coward asks me to help him some more .....
….also Brad Underwood suspended 5 games for talking about fighting 40 years in the past. The B1G is better than that.”

Howard postgame....doesn't sound remorseful at all...

“I addressed with the head coach that I will remember that, because of the timeout,” Howard said. “Someone touched me, and I think it was very uncalled for, for them to touch me, as we were verbalizing and communicating with one another. That's what escalated it.”
You touch me I punch you?!? That’s roughly equivalent? lol. This is a bad look. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is canned. Hard to justify what just happened. Not a good example for student athletes.

Does UM letting the conference handle any discipline allow them to say an independent organization handed you this punishment therefore we are with holding pay or firing you for cause

I know contracts can have weird loop holes

Or is this the university not wanting to punish him more than they need.

I don’t see the NCAA getting involved because this isn’t an eligibility question

On the topic of why the UMich AD is kicking the can down the road, it seems pretty obvious. UM can still make the tournament if they win a bunch more games, and they're less likely to do so with their head coach suspended. The AD is hoping the slowness of the NCAA will pay off for them. By the time anything is done, it won't matter any more for this season.

What amazes me is that Harbaugh is now considered the most mature of the Michigan coaches.
And Harbaugh is a complete unhinged loser as well. For those that weren't ever aware or forgot, Harbaugh sucker punched Jim Kelly during the late 90s(breaking his own hand in the process lol )

I really hope this incident does not lead to the return of John Beilein.
I hope so too. Belein is 69 years old at this point, so I wonder if he would want to step in. On the other hand, per Wikipedia, he is still involved with Michigan. "In Fall 2020, Beilein taught a course at Michigan titled "Coaching as Leading and Leading as Coaching" in the School of Education.[245] He repeated teaching the course in Spring 2021." Come to think of it, if the course is offered again, maybe JH should sign up!

Juwan Howard, aka the Master of Disaster, the Prince of Dukes, the Great Hookema Dookema, Spiked Punch, the Boss with the Hot Sauce, First to Fight, the Michigan Mauler, Slappy Dolomite, is in deep trouble with the U of M leadership, NCAA, and Big Ten. Hard to be a role model for young men when you have no impulse control.

While Howard should be fired (and there would be justification to do so given his history), most severe suspension he likely gets is being suspended for the rest of Michigan's season. Unfortunately, B1G bylaws only allow a 2-game suspension maximum for something like this so the university would have to add onto the punishment which, given, initial reaction by Michigan's AD doesn't seem likely to happen.

Gard explained why in his press conference. He had all of his bench players in and was using it as a teaching moment to break a press and reset the 10 second timer to get across half court. That's reasonable. A coach isn't there just to coach the starting five after all.
I heard Michigan was pressing Wisconsin's subs, too. But I didn't see the game, so I don't know that as fact.

Furthermore, if it is ok for Michigan to press in the last 20 seconds when the outcome has been long decided, then it is ok to call the timout. If I remember correctly, Michigan stoppped the clock in the last 10 xseconds with a foul.

That's exactly why he had to call the TO. They had about four seconds to get it over the timeline. The second and third string weren't getting it, so he called the TO to reset the timer and explain what to do.

So, in a word he was coaching.

A new conspiracy theory:

Warren decides that Michigan will not play their final 5 games and the WI game is determined to be listed as a no contest. This paves the way for Purdue to be awarded the big 10 regular season championship.

Yes, I even turned to my wife and said why the hell are they pressing with 30 seconds left with their starters in against Wisconsins bench. No chance of affecting the outcome of game. If Howard had any class he would have pulled his starters off the floor at the same time.

Gard has a reputation as a tool. However, Juwan was in complete control of this situation all the way through. How you get from "Please; I don't want to talk about it now, Greg" to taking a swing across several heads at some assistant coach who may or may not have slagged you verbally is a heck of a stretch.

I don't believe he'll be fired for this. I don't see it happening. But he has given the university and his program a black eye by this behavior. The guy is taller and bigger than every other mature adult there. He's nearly 50 years old. Nothing, absolutely nothing, prevented him from holding his hands up and saying "Guys, let's take this up later" and walking on. His behavior was indefensible. Period. Doesn't matter if the worst human being on earth makes that observation; it remains the case. He is first and foremost a role model for his team, as Bill Musselman was on the floor of Williams Arena 50 years ago last month when all hell broke loose at the end of the game and his players attacked Ohio State players in the most underhanded way possible. It begins and ends with the coach.

I'm sympathetic to someone who grew up in an environment in which disagreements were settled physically. Completely sympathetic, having had firsthand experience for many years with someone from such an environment. But 30 years after leaving that environment, especially when you made millions of dollars along the way that afforded you the resources and time to learn to react differently, and modulate your behavior in a civilized manner, you're long out of excuses and slack. He had a choice and he chose badly, on national TV, and it led to his players getting in fistfights solely b/c he lacked judgement, maturity, and impulse control. Did the guy learn nothing form the Turgeon incident last spring? The fact that Howard expressed no contrition or even regret (not even the ever-ready "mistakes were made" buck-passing of the spineless) in his postgame presser today (and didn't have the good judgement just to bow out of it altogether) floors me.

End of story, boys. The chips will fall where they will, regardless of what's fair, just, or rational. I will be surprised if Juwan Howard, Kevin Warren, or Warde Manuel emerge from this looking better than they did at noon today.

Peace out.
At the time of the brawl Ohio State was top 5 team in the country. They were never the same after the brawl. I believe that there were fans, who left the stands and got involved. There were suspensions handed out after this occuurred. Future, baseball hall of famer, Dave Winfield, played for Minnesota along with Proviso East's, Jim Brewer, and Champagne Central graduate, Clyde Turner.
