Fair points. Consensus 5* recruits are hard to land and there's not that many of them. Supply and demand. But I share your sentiment.

Eh. Maybe not.

If she's moved 2-3 times in the past 4 years, that's a lot. I get wanting to stay somewhere a while, particularly is the weather is nicer. We also don't know what, if any, career advantages they have out west, too.

I wish her hometown was enough to bring him back here, but I'm certain that's not the only factor in play for them and that's okay.

It's not a condemnation of our program either.

No doubt. But when we do, can you imagine the aftermath on this board? Unbridled jubilation, but then the naysayers on here would measure every other recruit to that recruitment.

The 'yeah, but...' x 1000..... 'we didn't get...', 'always the bridesmaid...', blah blah blah. Then default to the comparisons to successful seasons, previous coaches, previous players, previous misses, etc). We will need to create another cliche BINGO board.

Let's enjoy the embarrassment of riches we have in recruits, players, staff, and administration. We are back! And it feels goooooooood!

Just watched highlights of 2 of his latest high point games, and was very impressed. One contributing factor producing his turnovers, is that he gets doubled a lot. Definitely a Beast!

Nothing not to like, in my opinion.

The only year that BU didn't have a top 25 recruiting class was the year Kofi signed and we know that turned out ok. If that is bridesmaid status then fit me for a bridesmaid 👗. And please enough about Fears, I hope the kid does well but if BU and company feel it's best to go in a different direction then fine by mean. They've earned that trust in my book with how they recruit and more importantly how they develop guys.

I agree. Top 30 or top 45 player that you have been recruiting wants to commit at a key position, you take him. You don't slow play a definite to get a possible. If Boswell commits next week then it will be justified.

Like others, I trust BU and his staff 1,000 times more than what we've seen here before. Part of me misses the Lou Henson 80s teams and even Lon Kruger late 90s teams watching the kids sitting on the bench develop into bigger roles and keep the program rolling along once the seniors graduated, but I'm sure those times have probably sailed. (though of all things I don't want to do, perhaps credit Iowa for the way their younger/ less playing time kids have developed and now playing well after Garza, Weiskamp and others left?) --- Anyway, I'll be glued to updates on David Roddy, the ISU kid and any other potential transfers and hoping things work out for the Illini WAY better than when Rice, Crosby, Starks and others transferred in.

This. I trust our insiders, but we are talking about someone who hasn't even entered the transfer portal yet? Aren't we talking major tampering issues if we think a guy who is currently playing for another team has plans to transfer here?


As for Bowsell, I think we can believe at the same time that BU has improved the state of the program by leaps and bounds and that we still have a problem closing on our top targets and finding ourselves as the runner-up. We are going to have to close on a five start at least once every few years. That's the final step. Otherwise BU has done a great job of building a deep roster.

It’s premature talk but I trust the insiders on this one. Maybe his intentions are to transfer, and this is the major transfer that has been mentioned but obviously there’s no actual confirmation or commitment because he’s not in the portal and can’t transfer yet

It isn't tampering if a player (or his camp) initiates contact. I'm comfortable that our staff knows the rules here and adheres to them.

Just to be clear, no idea if Roddy has put out feelers.
