Remember watching this kid at Whitney Young during the IHSA State Finals. Can't remember if WY won the state title his Senior Year or not, but I loved what kind of player he was then. Don't know much about him at DePaul as I really didn't pay much attention, but if he average 21.7 PPG there then he's definitely worth taking a look into. Hopefully BU is paying close attention.
I’ve watched at least a half dozen DePaul games this season, including their game last night, and JFL is certainly their alpha. Real stat sheet stuffer too — had 26/9/5 last night against Marquette along with 3 steals. I wouldn’t call him a great shooter, though he can get hot from 3. He has the ball in his hands a lot this season for DePaul, so might be fair to wonder how he’d do with Illini’s more team concept. That said no doubt he is a take and would slide very nicely into Trent’s spot. Has had 11 games this year with at least 2 steals and only a handful with none.Remember watching this kid at Whitney Young during the IHSA State Finals. Edit: and I just realized something looking at his hyphenated last name: Freeman-Liberty. Isn't he Marcus Liberty's nephew??? If so.....yes please!
He is mosdef related to Marcus. I cannot remember exactly how though.Remember watching this kid at Whitney Young during the IHSA State Finals. Am I behind on the rules then or does that mean transferring again (to us or to anywhere) would cause him to have to sit a year? In which case I have to assume he's just going pro.He transferred to DePaul from Valparaiso.
See ya Friday night at 7. Ill be looking for whatever assistant is in the house. Hell the team is off tomorrow, maybe Brad will make the trip.St Rita 68 HF 58
I am unclear as well. But to transfer to UI, I think he would need a waiver or be a grad transfer.Am I behind on the rules then or does that mean transferring again (to us or to anywhere) would cause him to have to sit a year? In which case I have to assume he's just going pro.
Not if Ames is still hurt. I'm probably going to do Lake Forest/St. Pat's.See ya Friday night at 7. Ill be looking for whatever assistant is in the house. Hell the team is off tomorrow, maybe Brad will make the trip.
They still have Pettigrew, Loury and Heard and I think it will be a good matchup. I know the atmosphere is going to be great. Plus Brad or Tim might show up. I also have to keep in mind Thornton will be playing at that same time. I think they won their game. Not if Ames is still hurt. I'm probably going to do Lake Forest/St. Pat's.
He gets a COVID year so he's eligible for a 5th season, no requirement to sit.Am I behind on the rules then or does that mean transferring again (to us or to anywhere) would cause him to have to sit a year? In which case I have to assume he's just going pro.
Meanstreets kid, so I would say so with Tim Anderson - he was same class as Ayo
You forgot Harris (OHIO) and Rodgers (Michigan)Would be kinda cool to have top recruits from Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa at the same time.
I would have been happy to land Trey Pettigrew. I'm kinda shocked he isn't going to a better school than Nevada. Coaches must see something that concerns them that I'm missing. He doesn't shoot as well as Ames, 40% from 3 to Ames 50%, but he's more athletic and has slightly better stats than Ames. They still have Pettigrew, Loury and Heard and I think it will be a good matchup. Pretty sure he’s going proPatrick Baldwin's father just got let go at Milwaukee.... he's probably portal bound and would be a great pickup...one can dream.
And Jayden Epps (North Carolina)You forgot Harris (OHIO) and Rodgers (Michigan)
It may have been different if Reyna was playing and Ames is out, but I know Kenwood has that firepower. I dont know much about Pettigrew. I know he left the city then came back. I looking forward to sitting and watching the battle.I would have been happy to land Trey Pettigrew. I'm kinda shocked he isn't going to a better school than Nevada. Not saying he should be at a Blue Blood or even Illinois, but he's certainly a P5 player. He's had games of 50 and 41 this year. I'd still expect Kenwood to beat St. Rita even if Ames doesn't play.

Closest he'll get to Champaign is a transfer to the Chicago BullsPatrick Baldwin's father just got let go at Milwaukee.... he's probably portal bound and would be a great pickup...one can dream.
Being a legacy piece never hurts.Meanstreets kid, so I would say so with Tim Anderson - he was same class as Ayo
He seems to be an every day guy - first team Big East all academic, high volume shooter, plays the whole game, really good rebounder for a guard - just dropped 39 on St. Johns and had 34 v Villanova - I say, sign him up!
