Indiana looked like most of them were dealing with a case of the nerves. Galloway is a dumb fouling machine. We would have beaten them by twenty if they played like that against us.

That’s true but to be fair, it wasn’t so long ago we would have given our right arm to
squeak into that play-in game.

Or a Big toe st the very least.

This game begs the question of why we need 68 teams
A couple of them, including last year, have made the Final Four. The difference to last four in vs the last four byes is razor thin. I like that they have opportunity to play into the 64 team field. That Rutgers team is fascinating. They have a legitimate chance to go a few rounds. They're in toe predicament because the first half of their season got balanced out by an incredible second half. Leaving them out, with the teams they beat, would have been awful. Now, they have one shot to prove they belong.

tbh - I could see them adding another 2 teams meaning more of the 11/12 seeds have a play in game.

Re: last night’s game, I realize neither team was exactly throwing their fastball but I did take it as a good reminder of just how tough the league is. I do think TJD is one of the more over rated players in the league, but he’s still an 18/10 guy against the best bigs in the country and a fringe all American that is a matchup problem for 90% of D1 teams.

And I thought Maldonado and Ike were really nice players and both hit their averages on 50% shooting, but you can tell they are used to forcing double teams and kicking it to open shooters. I think the fact that IU was able to play them both straight up really disrupted their typical offensive game plan.

I know it’s one game but I wouldn’t be surprised if BIG makes a little more noise this year. I don’t think there’s more than maybe 3 teams that can win a regional but all 9 teams are capable of winning a game or 2. I think that extra week of bubble/being isolated in hotel rooms took a toll on all teams last year, not just us.

Anyways, we just went 15-5 in a brutal league despite all of our injuries, and Curbello seems to be rounding into form. Excited to see if we can go on a run.

Did anyone see the call at the end of the Indiana game when Wyoming was on offense? Two Wyoming players ran into each other, the ball got knock away and the ref called a foul and pointed at the one Wyoming player. There wasn't an Indiana player in the area when the foul was called. I think the ref picked out Gallaway who was the closest Indiana player. The refs this year are exceptionally bad. Earlier in the game they went to the monitor and reversed a call on Thompson. He could have saved face by doing the same thing, but Wyoming shot free throws on one of the craziest fantom calls I've ever seen. Good thing for Indiana that the game wasn't close at that point.

Galloway pushed the Wyoming guy into the other one. The replayed showed him out with an extended arm making contact.

It look questionable and you could see Woodson saying “it was own man!”

Refs do suck just remember every call against iu is the right call.
This is the truth. I find myself in a weird "root for all big 10 teams" place when the tourney rolls around. Especially after the horrid showing last year. My heart hurts rooting for teams I hate.

Going out on a limb to say that this game will not be the film that St. Mary's watches tomorrow to prep for IU.
agree. maybe just parts of Geronimo's play, to emphasize a guy with athletic talent. This was his best game. I love his stuff/grab the ball away all in one motion against Maldonado. CoHawk very capable of same.
