You could say Illinois didn't deserve to win but that completely discredits how awful Chattanooga was/is. We just sucked less at the end of the game.

Other than the fact we won, which is the all-important thing, the big positive is that Hawkins was awesome so hopefully he can carry that though. We saw tonight why his playing confidently is important for this team.

A game we deserved to lose only leading for the last 25 seconds. We played poorly & out of control most of the game but most importantly we won & move on. The better news is, we can't play any worse the next game. Parents cover your kids eyes when you look at our stats in the box score. Some final four teams in the past had an ugly win in the first round. I hope all the players learn from this game. Congratulations Fighting Illini players & coaches!!!!

That's the tough thing. He plays tentative because he knows he will be benched with some of the terrible mistakes he has been making, which it turn makes him make terrible mistakes that get him benched.
