UNC has a ton of talent. I don’t know if this was Baylor being overrated so much as UNC being severely underrated. Through nobody’s faults based on their performance, but that UNC starting 5 is stacked.

Kenny Smith is by far the weakest of the four core NBA on TNT hosts.
Charles Barkley is the best in the biz, and it’s not even close.

What a game.
UNC is a team whose starting five plays major minutes (the highest scoring sub scores 3.5 pts on average), and then two of their starters fouled out. Then their opponent, a defending national champion almost playing at home, got a 25pts comeback into overtime. I believe everyone would assume they are going to lose. But they did it. That was huge.

The only thing I can figure about the Baylor NC game is ....all 3 ref's had Baylor in the final 4 in their bracket pool.

Because Its 5 on 5 in high pressure situations involving a bunch of 18-21 year olds. These kids are human. Athletic specimens, but human nonetheless.

I'd agree with this take 100%. Baylor has gotten by this year by spreading out their losses but they're not particularly deep either due to injuries. UNC is the most talented 8 seed we've seen in a while. Theyre actually an 8 seed i wouldn't want us to get if we were a 1 seed this year due to their talent alone.
Memphis as a 9 is similar. TON of talent there. Should be a very good game.

Fun fact. Illinois starting lineup ages are 22, 23, 23, 23, 24. In 2021 the OKC Thunder had a starting lineup w/ages 19, 19, 20, 21,21.

Yeah this has nothing to do with but thanks I guess. Make the smart play at the end of the game and not a play that has very little chance of succeeding. What age you are has nothing to do with it. Most of these guys can handle the pressure. It's not like they haven't been in those situations before. And some of it falls on coaching too.
