This^^^ Kofi has been great for this program and I wouldn’t trade having him here but I think Underwood wants a team a little more like this and could see a couple of Hawkins type guys in our front court in the future. One could be a little less skilled than Hawkins, but a 6’8 or 6’9 thicker D and rebound type.
You mean like Dainja?

He is a guy who can post up a guard, get to the rim and he is a tenacious defender. He fits what a Underwood team looks like. Our team this year is not a Underwood prototype. He has had to change his style to fit the pieces he has. He wants a team more like the OSU team where multiple players can get to the rim with a facilitator to can feed to the open man. Kofi, great as he is makes it hard for us to drive because Kofi takes so much space and multiple defenders on him. Underwood likes a more mobile 5 who can get to the rim. Hawkins fits that mode which is why Hawk will most likely play the 5 next year.
That's why modern basketball doesn't favor heavy, bulk centers. However, I would not blame Kofi for the relatively lack of driving this year tho. IMO it's more on guards.

Lol. Lets not get too crazy. It’s been a couple months of practice on the scout team.

You said he's "Been good so far in practice". I'm trying to clarify what that "good" really means before folks have a chance to "get too crazy" with their interpretations. I think we all have recent recollections of "good" practice reports escalating to unrealistic expectations.
