Seriously....if Iowa St. goes from 2 wins last year to the Sweet 16 this year after scUM makes it again..........I'm 100% murdering one of these annoying a@@ geese in my hood tonight.

Kunc from ISU has been huge the last couple minutes. Big blocks, big shots, diving on the floor to get that last TO.

I haven’t run the numbers to see if games are statistically different than the regular season but why are the games so low scoring. A lot of teams look off shooting.
I feel like it has to do with playing in these big multi-purpose arenas. A lot of teams are used to playing in arenas tailored for basketball courts, not hockey rinks.

Big Ten teams' disastrous performance in the tournament for the second consecutive years could harm bubble teams in the future. And we are likely to be a bubble team next year.

Wisky 1-17 from behind the arc. Is that coach’s fault?

Coaches do not play

However, a team has to have players to play against a specific type of opponents. The opponent that Wisky faced, perhaps (did not watch the game) were responsible for the bad stat. ???

I don't believe that their performance has been disastrous. The conference had only one team in the KenPom Top 10 for most of the season: Purdue, and they waned through February. Our best six or seven teams were between the mid-teens and 30 most of the season.

Last season, Illinois, Michigan, Iowa, OSU and Wisconsin were in the Top 15 at season's end, and those first three were 3/4/7. That was a disappointing performance, as only Michigan made it to the Elite 8. This year, not so much. Kinda what I've expected so far, except for Iowa underperforming IMO and Michigan surprising everyone.

Not how it works.
I understand how the selection process goes. But the committee are human beings, so in addition to stats of the resume, the impression the conference may count, especially when teams from different conferences have similar resume.

I think Iowa and Wisconsin both under-performed - and although Houston is a great team, we are the higher seed in that game. Hopefully Purdue can do it better.

I'm optimistic that Purdue can get past Texas.

Seeding baffled me this year. Frankly, I was mystified that Houston was seeded so low. Last year they were in the KenPom Top 5 and got a 2 seed. This year, same, and they got a 5. I wasn't surprised at all that they beat us.

I disagree with you about Wisconsin. They're in the 30s on Pomeroy. How they got a 3 seed puzzles me. If we were a 4 they're a 4 or 5. At the very least Houston should have gotten Wisc's 3 seed. Wisc-Iowa State was a pretty dead-even match (ISU was in the lower KenPom 30s) and yet the Cyclones were an 11.

[EDIT: Also, I disagree that we'll be a bubble team next year. I believe we'll be safely in and that's low expectations. If we bring back the players we should bring back, and add the frosh and maybe a portal transfer, we'll be in great shape.

Final thought: losing in the tourney sucks. Sleep on it and perhaps you'll see things more positively in the days and weeks to come. ;):illinois:]

I find it amazing that there are two completely separate commercials, played every ten minutes, that both operate on the premise that you will recognize the celebrities shown without introduction, but then awkwardly interject, “hey everyone, look, it’s famous women’s basketball player, Sue Bird”.

Sorry, but after mentally blocking out our game, this is my key insight from this tournament

ROFL.

I had the identical thought earlier today and just thought "Well, I don't really pay attention to popular culture so that's probably why I have no idea who any of these people are."
