Not sure I agree. Had Belo hit 15 instead of 6 of his last 30 shots (and a lot of the misses were layups), no one would be dogging him about his TOs. He was sloppy at times, but his biggest problem lately was that his shot has been off. The fact that he was not making shots allowed the defenses to sag off him when outside and in the PNR, and it made it more difficult for him to make passes into the interior.
He's a sub 20% 3 point shooter. I'd stay 5 ft off him if he's behind the arc until he proves he can make a shot.

Melo lack of mid range jumper forces him to dribble the ball too deep into the lane and take difficult layups. He needs to develop a mid range jumper like Ayo.

Top 100 out of HS
6'5 - big guard
10 ppg as a starter for a Top 25 LSU program
Baltimore (Chet) connection
43% FG shooter (34% from three)
68% FT shooter

He's gotta be one of our primary targets. (Not so sure teammate Adam Miller will speak highly of BU, however.)
Butttt, I thought Brad and Adam talked every day?????

new Skyy news

Some of the most encouraging Skyy news I've thus far seen (outside of this board). Thx for sharing!

one of the most impressive moves the entire year, in my view
Agreed, more so because Omar was barely able to corral the entry pass ("hands like skillets" as a Loyalty brother once observed) before suddenly turning into Mikhail Baryshnikov in the lane. I literally almost fell off my barstool.

Huh? Plummer was the transfer being called an elite shooter. I’d say he lived up to it.
Payne has never attempted a 3 & never made 60% of his free throws. You don’t need advanced stats to see he isn’t a shooter.
“He’s elite at getting to the rim,” Underwood said. “He’s as quick-twitch of an athlete as we’ve had, but I’ve been very impressed.” "(Payne's) got a very good 15-17 foot jump shot. ... (It's) something that is a great addition for us," Underwood said. "They're going to play together some. There's no doubt. And (Payne) can guard anybody. He literally can guard point guards and (centers). He's got great, great quickness. He's got that great 7-5 wingspan.

Here's a couple quick quotes I found easily. What I'm remembering is from a radio interview so I can't prove it, but the word elite just rolls off of Underwood's tongue. Doubt it if you like.

Now if you want to talk about Plummer we can. He was "elite, elite" iirc. ;)

When is the last time an Illini player developed a jump shot as a guard at his age? His form seems fine.
I think his release looks fine. I think he does float forward a lot more on his jumper than he should. Ayo did that early on too but it went away later. Most good jump shooters don't jump forward a foot or so on a jumper. He also should shoot his FTs better so I don't know what it is. Get some shots up this off season I guess and figure it out.
