Andre with exception of OT Purdue loss where he went of for 20 pts had a rough season.

He is harder on himself than any fan and does not worry about social media. least of all a bunch of middle aged fans on bulletin boards.
He loves Brad and the University of Illinois. He wants both to be successful. He is not worried about playing in NBA - he believes in himself.

He is the leader of this team. Unless Kofi comes back he will have the most seniority and be the most important player of the team. If you watched him on sidelines when he was out he cheered harder than anyone else and multiple times almost got technicals called on him.

I don't think he is going anywhere. Everybody has been benched at some time in their career. The coach does it because it is the only thing he can do to get their attention. Andre is smart. I am sure he had offers last year and the outlook was grim with Ayo gone, Adam gone and Kofi in NBA/transfer portal. Next year this is Andre's team.

Are you just trying to talk yourself into Belo coming back? It feels like it since a LOT of the chatter is that he's already gone. Stranger things have happened, I suppose. But this all feels like you're trying to convince yourself he's still coming back.

The TSJ stuff is real. Illini0440 was correct about one being gone and one not… and a 2022 guard is as good as here, but ANYTHING can change. We’re in on the Mizzou guy too…
If all these things do happen, Belo will miss out on an ideal situation for him to excel as well

What I ask about this is that if insiders give clues, please make sure to let them share their joy and be good fans. If they leave, please rep the beloved as class acts. The kids we discuss were blessed to have the skillset that we are supposed to enjoy. Whether they come or stay, they’re still trying to figure it all out.

All I know is what I saw from Andre last 2 seasons. Lots of reasons for him to stay.

Please show me link where he announced he is entering portal.

The fact that I’m a native Peorian only plays a very small role in this, but … I’d welcome Adam back with the most open of arms! Our explaining away his leaving as not that big of a deal was always wishful thinking, that kid is going to be a stud!

With the Transfer Portal system now in place, three things are always in play:

1. Recruiting players (even YOUR OWN players) never, ever stops. It is 24/7 now all the time.

2. Freshman (that you really want to hold on to) MUST SEE floor time. Meaningful floor time. Otherwise, those players (and their ‘Advisors’) are going to see that player move on where they can have a more prominent role.

3. Coaches are going to have to be even more open and transparent with members of their teams about why they are or are not playing (on a DAILY basis) and what the player can do to see more floor time right away. Players can’t be in the dark about these things or left wondering. Just sitting and waiting your turn ain’t gonna fly anymore.

There is only so much calendar time and so many games in a college career. Players want to make the most of this quickly-closing window. The most successful programs are going to leverage this better and more to their advantage than those who still try to do things like they used to be.

You know I watched the Illini warm up in Pittsburg just before playing Houston. Andre hit 9 straight 3’s and I would say he was hitting at about an 80% clip. I think he can shoot he just needs to do it game situations. I hope he does not leave because he is one of the most exciting players to watch I have ever seen. He had a rough year, he could easily be Deron or Trent legion material at Illinois with 2 years of eligibility left.
