It’s like when the Cardinals get a veteran to take less to get more players around them… except it’s nothing like that.
Hey we have a great package available for you to come back and play one more year in college instead of leaving us and going to play professionally…..but can you use that money we got you to play your own tuition.

If you are looking at him as a 3rd string center I think BBV is perfectly serviceable. He absolutely held his own in some important games this year. Not a big threat offensively but I find it hard to believe the staff can convince someone better to come in to be 3rd string.
Yeah, obviously the staff knows what they have and what they're doing better than I do (only just barely though), but BBV is a pretty valuable piece if he's your 3rd big imo. You need guys that are capable but also know their role (ie, don't expect to play much) and are good teammates. All indications are BBV checks all those boxes. Plus you know what you're getting and don't risk a Payne situation where the transfer player seems to be an upgrade but ends up not living up to expectations.

Lol. I thought the same thing. Hey 2x All American, could you do us a favor and be a walk on and pay to be here?

I hate to say this but Omar is a perfect example of the rating services rating athleticism and not much else when it comes to bigs. It's mind boggling to me how he could have been ranked as highly as he was with what struck me as terrible court awareness and no ability to guard his man one on one. Hopefully he transfers somewhere they can hide him in the middle of a zone. On a positive note, since he's been able to scrimmage against Dain this hopefully means he saw that he wasn't going to be able to beat him out for minutes.

I think Omar Payne would be an Olympic caliber high jumper with his height, athleticism, and how he moves. Someone should tell him in case he wants to do something in sports other than basketball down the line
