Yo insiders...was the podz news surprising
Not at all, I just don't come on here talking about the guys that are leaving. Want to give them that respect and let them announce on their own ...
Wish him the best.

He will land in the P5 if wants. Top 100 recruit with a huge upside. Just got caught in the numbers game with all the seniors getting a free year.I don't think Brad will be bothered by this when the guards coming in were going to play over him. Look for UW-Milwaukee as a landing spot
We're down to thee guards on next year's team, all Freshmen. While all three look promising, that clearly isn't enough bodies.
Is he an option? Yes.
Is he the top priority? No.
Now that Podz is in the portal, I'll add Ramey to my prediction of landing TSJ.We're going to get a couple of veteran guys ...
My recollection was that Podz is close with Tyler Herro from AAU and Herro was not treated well after he decommitted from Wisconsin in favor of UK. IIRC, as a result, there isn't a lot of love towards the Badgers. Please no Wisconsin
YepNow that Podz is in the portal, I'll add Ramey to my prediction of landing TSJ.
I agree that having a smaller guard isn't the issue. It's an issue in my opinion when that small guard does not drive to the basket and draw fouls on a consistent basis. Feliz was great at doing that! He would attack and get right up into the larger defenders chest and draw fouls. He was also a smart defender, who moved his feet really well defensively and drew charges, etc. Taller guards can compensate for some of those deficiencies with their height and length, and be able to recover defensively if beat. But if we're looking at an equal skill set, then I'd prefer the taller guard with added length.I think some on here may be overstating the goal to get bigger at guard. Yes, we clearly need to get bigger but I don’t think we necessarily need to just ignore all guards that are in the 5-11 to 6-1 range. The issue with last year’s team was that our 3 best guards were ALL basically 6-1. I think it’s fine having a smaller guard as long as we surround them with bigger players.
Wait I though this was common knowledge already? And he didn’t have a year of eligibility left anywayPlummer is going pro:
Also so everyone remembers - Plummer was always expected to be gone next year. I imagine most of us know, but figure I say it before anyone freaks out.Plummer is going pro:
Adam and Ayo were good rebounders too. It helped cover for playing a 6'3" PF DaMonte. Bigger problem was with Andre injured we only had two legitimate offensive threats Kofi and Alphonso. Trent had some great games but he was not somebody you wanted taking 12 shots per game on a regular basis.I agree that having a smaller guard isn't the issue. Yes Podz would have gotten a lot of playing time at many other D1 schools. Just didn't work out here with us having three extra year senior gaurds and Curbelo in front of him. This may come back to haunt us.He will land in the P5 if wants. Top 100 recruit with a huge upside. Just got caught in the numbers game with all the seniors getting a free year.
Yea, Trent seemed a little uncharacteristic towards the latter part of the season. I wish him the best in his continued career. I know he'll make an impact on a professional team somewhere!Adam and Ayo were good rebounders too. It helped cover for playing a 6'3" PF DaMonte. I don't think he really had as much if an opportunity with the covid super seniors. None of them did. I think he for sure needed more time to adjust than others. I wish he had stayed. I think he has talent but so many of these young players think they are ready and want to play right away. I hope it works out for him. I understand why he may choose to leave with Skyy and others coming in. It is not like last year when Miller left to make momma happy that caught me off guard after starting most of the season.Only freshman who really deserved to play more minutes was RJ. If were being honest Podz looked like a borderline walk on early in the season. He got better as the year went on but the freshmen guards look better.
I think he was hurting much more than he let on for the entire season and it certainly impacting his offensive numbers.Yea, Trent seemed a little uncharacteristic towards the latter part of the season. I think we'll be fine, even if he is good somewhere else. I hope he is. But I dont believe we'll be haunted by his departure.Yes Podz would have gotten a lot of playing time at many other D1 schools.
