Since before Belo entered the portal the end of March, we have had 1 great addition to the team... signing Skyy. We have also had a few of the bench players enter the portal. We do have some freshman coming in with a lot of potential, but we knew that before the end of March.

Guess, in retrospect, I have had too much time on my hands and am addicted to reading these posts.

Sometimes you get frustrated living in your own home. But then you get a good look at other people’s homes and you realize maybe your home is a pretty nice place to be after all.

I don’t know that Illini Nation is harder on players than any other fan base. Less so, for some entitled and impatient fan bases. In general, Illini fans are fair and well-meaning. And any indication of having high expectations is done out of good intentions for the player and the program.

Only the player himself can truly know where his heart is and where he wants to pursue his dream. All anyone else can do is encourage them and wish them the best no matter what decision is made.

And that even applies to certain well-hyped former Illini players and Illini recruits who once played high school ball in the Metro East area.

Unfollowing someone you know well on IG because they’ve ‘moved on’ is generally considered petty. I wouldn’t read into that much.

Any truth to Curbelo trying to quit team before NCAA tourney? I’m far less concerned about his on court issues than I am about the rumored personal/health stuff with how it could potentially impact the team if not resolved.

If what I heard was true he needs to get his head right before I’d have him back.

I’m not bashing him at all. I’d love to have him back if he is healthy, but I thought a fresh start was in everyone’s best interest base on what I heard.

I’m sure the staff will do what’s best for all involved.

No bigger Belo fan than me. But we need a proven slasher who can get to the rim and finish or kick to open shooters. It is the one thing we sorely, and I mean sorely, missed last year and it was made painfully obvious watching the tournament.

Edit: To be clear, I'm happy if Belo's back but still feel like we need an experienced scorer/driver.
