Yeah there is stuff in the works.....if someone leaves it's going to be Coleman. Staff think there's 2-3 more guys coming in at least
Long-time lurker, first-time poster.

Read this article earlier today when the Nance talk got fired up: https://www.insidenu.com/2022/3/12/...xpert-ben-pfiefer-on-northwesterns-pete-nance. Seems like Nance is nice player but ceiling seems fairly low. Hawkins to me is a bit of a wild card but has a much higher ceiling. Not sure I would want to risk it with Hawkins unless it's a big-time upgrade.

Good Lord. After another long day at work I log into 36 pages. Not happening.
TSJ signing is just nuts. From he’s a lock, to he’s looking, to he’s gone, to we never really wanted him, to signed. Great talent and I’m glad we got him. I never figured out what happened (that made the good news not happen) yesterday for the same reason as today. Too much to keep up with in a couple spare minutes. You guys are amazing. I appreciate the passion this board has for all things Illini Basketball. Keep up the good work. It’s been a helluva ride!

Not sure I'd go that far. We need to add at least one quality PF/C and not having any more guys leave. Even then we'd only have 11 scholarship players.
Yea, whatever happened with Ramey? Did he choose a school yet?

I don't think so. Nance shot 45 percent from 3. Hawk shot 23 and 29 the last two years. I don't see him ever being that productive offensively. Nance is better than Hawk now but I do hope you are right about Hawk getting better.

You might wanna stop watching college sports then…..
Ya, maybe. I do like that Underwood wants to develop players as well as men. I like getting invested in the Illini and watching them grow through the years. The players like Brian Cook, Malcolm Hill, Trent Frasier. These are the players we still talk about because we loved watching them play and grow.
I liked that our model was not Kentucky, even though yes I would have liked their wins.
But like it our not, that model may have been thrust upon us and the coaching staff.

That is why I don’t get the Shannon transfer. He didn’t want to be here out of high school, we weren't his first choice this time. We got him by default this time because he could not get into Michigan! Doesn’t seem like it is worth it to take the chance of losing a current player who truly wanted to b here before all this new crap!
Wow. This is quite a take. We are in the process of loading up on big time talent. We will have an elite group of talent this next year. We have more on the way with the 2024 class. The effort it must take to be bummed right now .....

From the digging that I've been able to find on Ramey (limited posts regarding him), it seems like at the moment he is sure-firing to stay in the draft until the combine... take that for what you will.

Yeah, you're not wrong & he may not ever be that level of a 3-point shooter. I just think Hawkins role was fairly limited this year b/c of the veteran team surrounding him. Had he played for NW, I've gotta believe he would have been extremely productive.

I thought Murphy's expanded twice. Can someone who has lived in town since the mid-80s give an accurate update on the times and which space they took over? I remember Murphys being long, thin, and with no downstairs. At some point, they widened a little and added a small downstairs with a few arcade games. I thought there was a later expansion into the current space.

I'll miss Zorbas. Double Dipski, who shared space with them when they first opened, was also good. Those ice cream sandwiches were large enough to be a meal on their own (Two 6" chocolate chip cookies, with .75" of ice cream between them.)

The pound basket of fries from Tritos (vs. Trenos) were a great late night study snack.
When I was there in the early 2010s there was the entrance which was led into a long and skinny section with the bar, which then wrapped around to another area which had the downstairs entrance and the kitchen area where you ordered. There was then another additional space further to the right that may be the supposed second expansion.

I was there, waaaaay at the 🔝

Being on bourbon Street was a blast despite all the drunk LSU fans chanting “tiger bait” in your face every block
We were there, too, at the SugarBowl behind the ILL in the end zone. A ton of Illini fans were there. The first night on Bourbon Street was awesome because it was packed, TOTALLY Orange and Blue since it was basically a home game for LSU, and none of them were there yet. The night before the game was absolutely awful with the drunks and their in-your-face pointing at you screaming “tiger bait.” Then the game happened. I can’t think about LSU “student athletes” without remembering what one of their fans told us back then in Pat O’Brien’s. EVERY student who applies gets in-no ACT or grades necessary…

Let me know when to get the boom queued up, my friend 😎
Love you brother but my kid needs to academically do his part.

He has played some football and baseball in HS but not anywhere near scholarship material and we all know that.

So like any other he is going to apply.
To the college of I Health

He wants to be pre med.

Let's wish him luck because we live and die illini and white sox (btw we dying with them right now)

So let me get this right.
7/8 man rotation.
Skyy
TSJ
RJ
Nance
Hawkins
Dainja
Mccullars
Goode

Think it’ll be very tough for Goode to see the court over Rodgers …

Epps will get serious tick IMO, maybe not day 1 but this kid is gonna be a beast … I just got a gut feel about him.

Team will be legit 11 deep next year in terms of guys who can play at this level … Which means someone’s not gonna be happy … Wouldn’t mind having someone redshirt but kids don’t believe in that anymore it seems 🤷🏻‍♂️

Right???
Also, bonus points for grabbing that username. 🙌

You're joking, right? Nance >> Hawkins. Plus we need bigs. Plenty of minutes for both.

We need to get to 1,000 comments before midnight. Quick, someone make up a rumor and let LAD do the rest

Say no more …

I really don’t want Coleman to leave, he’s got so much potential. I don’t think I would want Nance if it meant forcing Coleman out. I like the team as it is right now, maybe adding one more big or veteran guard.

But it’s not up to me. I don’t get to decide, lol
