Does it? The question was basically if there are any other possible transfers and the answer was: "Yes, Malachi Smith."
For now, we keep waiting.

Great. package deal I assume.Well after all Malachi played with Liddell @ Belleville West.
so you're saying Liddell is finally going to transfer to the Illini.Well after all Malachi played with Liddell @ Belleville West.
Very long shots are Courtney Ramey or Malachi Smith. Former - we have reached out to; latter - news is very quiet.Should us Illini fans be looking at any other transfer names other than Nance and Mayer that could be a potential landing?
Well I was under the impression that he wasn't really even an option. So I'll take what I can get.Does it? The question was basically if there are any other possible transfers and the answer was: "Yes, Malachi Smith."

Malachi Smith
The few times I watched him Smith was the primary ballhandler for much of the game, so I wouldn't write him off as a point guard too quickly. I also wouldn't read too much into the assist rate as Paris' teams collectively did not rely on assists to score during his tenure in Chattanooga. I'd personally take him and would expect him to play a lot of minutes. He's good, but am unsure about the fit. Not a PG. Does he have good distribution skills? His assist rate indicates he does. How's his handle? Great rebounder, good size (for a guard), great experience, athletic and strong. There's a lot to like, but we don't really need another 2. Yeah, yeah, stack talent, but he probably/definitely can find a better fit/more tick elsewhere.

Anyway, here's a picture of Illini legend Dick Butkus with Rob Reiner, both sporting tremendous disco shirts on an episode of The Rockford Files:

If we're being honest about it I was way more interested in posting that picture than talking about Smith's ballhandling skills.Beautiful segue to more important matters!
I remember when I was in high school (down in Collinsville), we always hated playing Edwardsville because they intentionally just passed the ball around ad nauseum until eventually something opened up. It was an extremely boring thing to watch because there was no incentive for them to actually attack the basket in any way.Not directly Illini related, but good news:
I don't miss the 45 second shot clock rule for college.. This will help for high school for sureNot directly Illini related, but good news:
As someone who also went to CHS, we hated playing Edwardsville for a variety of reasons, with their smugness always being high on the list.I remember when I was in high school (down in Collinsville), we always hated playing Edwardsville because they intentionally just passed the ball around ad nauseum until eventually something opened up. Well sure, but I was trying to stay germane to the shot clock discussion. As someone who also went to CHS, we hated playing Edwardsville for a variety of reasons, with their smugness always being high on the list.
Yeah I gave up on the Ramey talk weeks ago... I don't think he wants Illinois. Nova seems to be in a good place with him but there have also been rumblings of him deciding to stay in the draft.Very long shots are Courtney Ramey or Malachi Smith. Former - we have reached out to; latter - news is very quiet.

As someone who went to CHS way before you guys, we hardly ever worried about Edwardsville because rarely beat usWell sure, but I was trying to stay germane to the shot clock discussion.
