So I will preface this by saying I don’t really care about preseason rankings much as water tends to find its level during the course of the season. That being said, aren’t we criminally under rated this year?

So I think biggest strike against us is we have 7 newcomers. But from what I can see just about every top 10 program in CBS’ top 25 and 1 has at least 5 newcomers. The one I can’t figure out is Duke who has 10(!) newcomers next year, with Jeremy Roach as their only returning rotation piece. I understand they have 3 of the top 4 freshman coming in, but I think we’ve seen with the exception of a Zion like talent, for a single season or game, a 4th/5th year borderline NBA kid > and 18 year old lottery pick. And we picked up 2 of those guys in addition to what we have on our roster + our current freshmen.

Just saying, when you factor in both talent and experience, I actually like our roster better than Duke’s. Not saying we should be ranked in the top 5, but I do think we are a top 25 team for sure.

I can’t wait to see what the team looks like this season and BU looks giddy. Think we will surprise a lot of people but we shouldn’t if they are paying attention.
Short answer: YES, we are criminally underrated. Can’t wait to run Indiana’s poser a$$ out of the gym.

I mean...it's a drill...so a PWO is just as able as a schollie to be competitive. That being said...my $$ is on Goode.

They should add a twist and have someone running at you at each shot.

Brad shouldn’t get flack for hyperbole. They’re his players he should be talking them up. Weber got flack for speaking the truth, coaches can’t win with fans. Damned if they do or don’t.

I hesitate to make this comparison, but it's sort of like how the Irvins relentlessly promote MIF players. Even if it is hyperbole, it will have anything from a neutral to positive effect on the outside world's perception of a player. That has implications for NIL and for getting scouting looks from the pros. A coach that is a cheerleader for his or her players' abilities is a positive attribute.

Quote du Jour Coach Underwood

"I'm fired up," Underwood said. "It gives you a new buzz. I know it'll be time to hang it up when I'm not excited."

"I think it's a little bit overrated," Underwood said. "In terms of having a quote unquote, playmaker. We're gonna put five good players on the court, and they're all very skilled, they can all handle the basketball."

"Dain Dainja may be our best ball handler. Running him in a Jokic-type of format ... I'm not going to get pinned to positions as much as I am playing positionless. And I think that's one of the things that the game is trending towards. And I want to be out in front of that."

"In this recruiting process, I think there were a couple of things that were were very evident," Underwood said. "We needed guys who could be people off the dribble. Jayden (Epps), Skyy (Clark), Ty Rodgers, Sencire (Harris) ... all of those guys have those abilities. As the portal played along, we knew we were going to need wings. And that was the plan was to find multiple position guys."
