Amani is Brads #1 in 2023? I’d be curious if that’s truly because he’s his favorite player or if he’s a solid gettable guy who he’s just high on.

This is setting up for an extremely quiet 2023 recruiting period, which considering our roster construction makes sense. Should only benefit much more important classes in the future.

With transfers being what they are now there is no such thing as a "quiet recruiting period."

My guess is he’s #1 because he’s a good fit for what we need roster wise. Physical, versatile high motor front court player. Should be a great fit culturally and have a reasonably high floor. My guess is he’s a Goode type recruit. Unlikely to ever be the star on the team but just a really solid player who can do a lot of different things. You need guys on your team like that.

I hope we land him.

Don't know how often they update their site...but 247 has him as a heavy Penn State lean (like 100%).

Agree with most of your points, but I think Hansberry is better than you think. Hopefully, we'll see.

247 is pretty bad about updating site. The prediction is 2 1/2 months old. It is a 7 (high) that has translated to 100 % lean PSU for a while now. It has been based upon the past predictions of two guys (one predicted on 3-25-22, one day after Amani's OV to PSU; and the other predicted on 4-5-22).

On Monday, he went for a follow up unofficial visit to Penn State. Yesterday and today was the OV in Champaign. Thomas Haugh just committed to Florida and had no interest in PSU.

Can only read the tea leaves. Don't have premium access to Derek Piper's recent take yesterday on Illini Inquirer. And have no official sources.

We shall soon see.

Our Number 1 option is a high 3 star recruit? Meh. I trust Underwood and Staff but that's super underwhelming. Guess they're worried about "recruiting over" the 2022 class or scaring away 2024. So 2023 will be a fairly nothing class?

Literally no high major coach wanted to deal with Bates' bullspit. That ought to tell everyone who wasn't sure, that this was more than just a normal hyped up prospect with an overbearing family.

Former 5-Star SF Emoni Bates Transfers to Eastern Michigan from Memphis. 😂😂😂
What Juwon got beat out for another recruit? Those nasty Eagles must be cheating. University of Michigan admissions office is to blame.
Why wouldn't Louisville keep Emoni on scholarship for the summer so he could play in Ann Arbor 😥

I was hoping that Emoni's father would get together with Lavar Ball to form another pro-league for Emoni to play in.
