After reading the whole thread , the majority of posts in this thread regarding attendance are somewhat true and spot on.......I would advise that years and years of disappointing season results and embarrassing defeats has numbed a lot of the people that want to come and watch a game live.... I can understand the apprehension in spending hard earned $$$ for a mediocre , at best , status quo of the Illini teams in the past 10-15 years.......The age of selling out Memorial Stadium could be at hand IF , and only if , we continue to see the great performance's like we all have seen this year.......
The key to having sellout's as a norm is in the number of season ticketholders , as has been posted in this thread before........I imagine there will be a healthy boost in that number next season based on this season's record so far ........I sincerely hope we can continue to rise in national recognition and that will WANT people to be in the stands and cheer on the beloved........Rome wasn't built in a day and Illini sellouts won't be either..............I like all the opinions professed about the remodeling needs of the stadium and it seems that the University is finally taking a hands on approach to filling the seats with the numerous ticket price reducing promo's .........
It will come in time and I will love being able to see a full house as I watch the games here in Paducah ......I have talked to NL # 3 about a road trip to see the Illini and she is all in .......My medical issues are somewhat hindering the thought of said road trip right now , but my optimistic nature is open to enduring the pain as i know the experience will outweigh the pain many fold....................
For now , I will be front and center at my cpu watching online and listening to Brian B. and crew as this has been such a magical season so far and I believe will continue as the Illini improve on our W-L record and rankings.........................
Color me O & B to the bone...............I really really am.............................
