MSU-Michigan Postgame Scuffle

Anyone see Daniel Barker involved in the assault of a UM player? Appears from the video he removed himself from the situation which was good to see. I'm guessing we see a much different MSU team come Saturday, as I imagine some expulsions are incoming.

Could end up being more than suspensions. Mich AD (I think it was) said the police are reviewing the video also.
It was a pretty short clip...but it didn't appear that there were any punches thrown....alot of shoving and pushing....unless punches were thrown or something more severe off tape, I'm thinking we may be disappointed with the (expected or hoped for) suspensions to be handed down....was it unsportsmanlike and an embarrassing scene for the schools and the B10...you bet...but would not surprise me if punishment for those involved was less than what a lot of us expect

Yeah I saw him. Really doesn't look like he did anything wrong and just walked away.

Just watched a video of a large group of Michigan State players assaulting 2 Michigan players in the tunnel after the game. I would assume that several Michigan State players will be suspended, if not arrested for assault. Sounded like a Michigan player may have a broken nose. Could be key for us next weekend if they will be missing some key players.
Noticed one of the MSU players front and center was Itayvion Brown from Lutheran North. Looks like Illini offered (in class of 2020), but he chose Minnesota.

They were literally pummeling a MU player that was on the ground and didn't have a helmet on. As severe as it gets

Bet he wishes he had stayed!

yea, some MSU players will get suspended for at least one game, if not more, for that .

Michigan security guy doing a great job there. Hopefully they have more footage than that. Kinda need to know how it started imo.
I agree. I’d like to see the pre tape. Michigan players were taunting after the game. They are a mouthy bunch.

still, you have to ignore it and go to your locker room.

This is the kind of stuff that happens when you try to throw deep and score again in the last 2 minutes against a team that you have a 20 point lead on. I mean it's not as if MSU was going to come back and win the game. Does noone have any sportsmanship anymore? Be good winners. I guess maybe its my Michigan hate coming through. That doesn't make what the MSU players did acceptable at all. But, it just creates more animosity between teams that already have a bit of hatred towards each other.

This is exactly right. I'm very surprised that Jim Harbaugh allowed them to throw long twice like that in the end. I still respect Harbaugh as a Coach, but that was a mistake, bad sportsmanship, and broke the unwritten rule of rubbing it in. I have had the game in Ann Arbor circled for a long time. Man, all I want for Xmas is a win against either Michigan or OSU. I think if we win one out of two (and of course beat MSU, Purdue, and NW), how do they keep us out of the Rose Bowl?

Well, if we beat OSU, that would mean we won the Big Ten. They wouldn’t be allowed to keep us out of the Rose Bowl.

So much to hate about this. Lots of questions. Where were the MSU coaches? How did a Michigan player(s) get separated from other UM players? MSU will be put in a tough spot as, my opinion, Tucker should be fired for lack of control of his players. But will they? Lots of outside pressures to make a move or to not make a move. Unfortunately, its going to be a rough week for Tucker and MSU.

No excuse.
Agreed. If you can’t be in close proximity to an opponent after a game without that happening then you shooting be playing. I’ll be curious to see how many of the players involved actually saw much time in the game. Wouldn’t surprise me if some of them didn’t or barely played.

You really think Tucker should be fired over this? Unless there has been a pattern of this type of behavior on team or he and his coaches were standing there and did nothing to stop it, I just don’t see this as something he should be fired for. Heck even when off field criminal activities by players, it is the covering up of things or intimidating victims/witnesses that I think is fireable — unless, of course, there is a pattern also. Tucker can’t be everywhere and I highly doubt he is preaching this kind of behavior. Now will MSU try to use this as a reason to fire him? Maybe. But to paint this as a “culture” thing is a disservice to Tucker and all the MSU players who weren’t involved and wouldn’t act like this.

All that said, throw the book at the players involved.
