I was just waiting for someone to post about tickets, lol.

Whitman was being deceptive in his little email to Robert when he said 3,000 tickets available to the public. He didn't say 3,000 tickets to a sell-out because they have far more unsold tickets.

They've been playing this game of cat and mouse all season trying to feign low supply thinking that percieved low supply will increase demand, then trickling out new tickets for sale gradually.

Look at the East Main seats which were previously "sold-out" suddenly there are now two entire rows of tickets available at mid-field rows 63 and 64. There are 75 rows in the East Main, that means that they haven't even begun selling tickets for rows 65-75. Same is true for Upper East sections with more rows unsold the further you move towards the end zones.

Not even close to a sell-out this week, just more anti-fan ticket games being played.

I just ordered a 4 pack of orange ponchos that should be arriving Thursday. Pregame festivities might be indoors but the game is on!
I cannot express how much the fact that this is a sentiment among our fan base now is exciting. In the past several seasons when we were bad, you could still get a decent atmosphere in Grange Grove and the surrounding tailgating lots and a crowd in Memorial that wasn't totally pathetic ... until it was cold. You would never really see an attendance dropoff at Iowa or Wisconsin because it's November now or because there is rain, and I am glad that our fans are turning the corner! Illini Football is worth it!!

I'd really like to see a stripe-out on a national attention game, but the problem with doing it at Illinois in November is that not enough people have orange jackets to make the orange sections look strong. Maybe next year when we open the B1G home schedule, on Sep. 16th, against Penn State would be a good time to dial up stripe-the-stadium.
Forget the stripe game. Every Illini fan should wear Orange. No other team in our conference has it and it stand out. Every game every sport should be a sea of orange

Wear an orange hat and put a large orange sweatshirt on and layer when it’s cold

Normal, Illinois
37,832 vs. Wyoming ... already higher than the average for the last three seasons.
33,669 vs. Virginia ... still not sure what happened here, haha.
37,579
vs. Chattanooga of all teams on a Thursday.
44,910 vs. Iowa ... 4-1 start gets more fans in the building than we have had since 2016.
45,683 vs. Minnesota
57,000+ vs. Michigan State!

As others have said, considering our pathetically small season ticket base, to have 20,000 or more fans hopping on the bandwagon through single-game ticket sales is actually quite impressive. It leaves me fairly optimistic that, should we make one/both, Illini Nation will come out in impressive numbers for both the Big Ten Championship Game and a good bowl game.

The mess that was the Indiana game killed a lot of buzz for Virginia, a lot probably thought it was an omen this was going to be another typical Illinois football game.

More MSU suspensions.

"Defensive ends Jacoby Windmon and Brandon Wright and cornerbacks Justin White and Malcolm Jones are now suspended."

Windmon is a big loss for them. The others aren't huge losses but will of course affect their depth.

Don't use me as a barometer. I've been to the last home game of the year almost every season for the past 5 years. Enjoyed just carrying a 6 pack around an empty Grange Grove with one or two other poor souls who were willing to go with me bundled up and listening to whatever pregame music they have.

Keep buying those tix people! Close to a sellout!

I thought I heard in BB's press conference something about there being a couple thousand student tickets available. Does anybody else remember hearing this??
I also heard this and the team's twitter seems to confirm that sentiment. I think we're probably only at about ~55k sold right now. Potential for rain will probably keep us from getting much more than that, and there will probably be a decent amount of no-shows. Should still be the best attended game in a while.

More MSU suspensions.

I would have strongly preferred to play them at full strength and not have any distractions to a normal game week. I honestly don’t think any of this mess is helpful for us.

Taking the Illini and giving the original 8.5 pts is looking like a pretty good bet right now.......

It's a non-issue for us. We have jobs to do. Do your job. My job is going to the game and buy beer. It's a tough job, but I do it anyway. The staff gets it. The kids get it. Josh has more people selling beer more quickly so he gets it. We're in as good a shape as we could hope to be in come first week of November.

Ahh, this brings back some fond memories from my apartment on the corner of Daniel…

My roommate and I would often play a little game called “Drink the beer!” And when you finished, you won a beer!

Might have to play a few rounds this Saturday…wonder if my wife knows how to play already? She’s a sharp gal, I’m sure she’ll pick it up quickly if not.

With the suspensions, MSU certainly seems beaten down on defense. Still, I have a difficult time believing a Vegas spread of 16 points.

30 ILLINI
16 MSU

We win, but do not cover. I'm at a Saturday wedding and will miss the game. That means a lot of peering down at my cell phone on silent during the ceremony.
