The thing about that PI call, it was not like they were grabbing and chipping and it was a judgment call who's hands were on who. Witherspoon never put a hand on the receiver. He backpedaled, turned, and cleanly picked the ball. The ref was looking at ghosts. Thought he saw something nobody else in the entire stadium saw.
