I'm counting on Painter and the Boilers to slip up once we get into the conference schedule. B1G coaches know Edey well, and will have better game plans than what Purdue has faced in the non con. If they couldn't win last year with Edey, Trevion, and Ivey then I can't see them winning it this year.
I still can’t believe they didn’t even get a share last year. Unreal with all that talent.

After reading and watching quite a lot about the Tim Donaghy affair in the NBA there's no doubt in my mind that referees do not like certain coaches/teams/players. Not all refs, but there are some out there that will make calls just to GET someone.
Wasn't his story about money?

2 pretty good frosh guards in B. Smith and the younger Loyer brother.........Older brother played at msu and transferred somewhere...........

Furst is playing more this year and the Morton dude is a gamer.......Gillis can hit the 3 ........probably better flow without Ivey dominating the ball direction.........

read somewhere about Edey with better conditioning getting more mpg.......They are legit , maybe even a better TEAM aspect than last year.....

I expect the B$G will boil down to an all out brawl for the title with 4-5 teams with a better than average chance to win the title....

They will lose more than once. That is wishful thinking. The BIG has tough arenas to win in. Plus, not to mention, what if Edey goes down for a while with an injury? Just sayin.

I'll be pretty disappointed if this isn't a double digit win.
Hopefully but this P. State team is not Syracuse. They have a pretty good team and are skilled shooters. And, for some reason always seem to play us close whether it is here or there.

?

I was talking about how last years team didn’t even get a share of the title.

Off topic but what is the schedule for the team for an 11 o'clock game? Get out of bed at 6 or 7, breakfast at 7 or 8, meetings/shoot around at 9? Then game prep with more film until 10?

I feel like this is a sneaky big game to see how this team will perform this season. We’ve seen us play top 20 KenPom teams and and sub 200 KenPom teams, but not a lot of 30-50 teams yet.

These types of teams are good enough to beat you, but you don’t get as excited to play them (as you do #2 Texas at MSG).

So I’m excited to see how this team shows up tomorrow.

Did you not pay any attention to the B10 west in football this year? If 4 out of 7 can make the league a toss up it can easily happen in basketball.

I think what he’s saying is, in a 14 team league, “better than average” would be at least the top six…with 7-8 being average and 9-14 being below average. Mathematically speaking, that is.

Now, I get what the OP of that comment meant, and I agree. There’s probably 4-5 teams that can realistically expect to challenge for the B1G title. But the laughing emoji should’ve been a clue that the response was a mathematics joke.
