I admire (and share) the enthusiasm. However, at this point I'll go with a 5-1/2 year BT track record, and numerous successful course corrections in rough seas, v. 0.5 seasons. ;) :illinois:
Both are great coaches and we are fortunate to have them. You are right, in fairness we should instead compare Coach Underwood's first half season here to Coach Green's this year. Or even Coach Green's first 5-1/2 year track record at Dayton to Coach Underwood's tenure here.

Spot on! I DO think that looking at the state of the program…when she took over was about as in the toilet as a program of ANYTHING can be. Who knows? The bottom might fall out tomorrow…Although, right know it’s looking as if she’s turned this thing around in .5 year(s) That has to count for something and that’s almost unheard of. :)

Ultimately, I don’t care. A rebuild takes how long it takes and whoop-T-doo…but the speed with which she did that has been nothing short of miraculous.

Is it silly to even compare the two? Yeah, it is. I don’t know where you’d even start; or why you would want to exactly…
Because, like you said it’s way early. And sustaining it is just as miraculous as turning it around. I don’t think it’s sexist to observe, either that the competition level is tougher on the Men’s side. (greater number of excellent/great teams)

Anyways, it’s kinda like a billionaire comparing two of his/her favorite luxury cars…

Great win in a tough venue. I have to say once again the Illini struggled in the second half compared to the first half. A lot of missed shots in the 4th quarter, which usually indicates tired legs. Is our bench that shallow that we can’t get some playing time for bench warmers when we are up by 15 to give the players in the rotation a little more of a breather?

I was playing golf today so didn't get to listen, why did Bostic only play 18 minutes? Peebles and Oden also limited minutes.

I don’t mean to be a shill for the BTN, but $9.99 per month for volleyball and women’s basketball as well as all the other sports is a bargain. I’m also a volleyball fan, so i have that as an added plus, but I’ve really enjoyed it. Sometimes the announcers are less than polished as each home team arranges for the commentary, sometimes using students or friends of the athletic department.

For all the Chicagoland Illini fans, the Illinois women play Northwestern at Welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston on Jan 22 (Sun) at 2 pm CT. I looked on the Northwestern website and an adult ticket is $7.00 and a youth ticket is $5.00. I started to buy an adult ticket and there is a $1.00 fee/ticket and a $2.00 service charge so I will be buying my ticket at the door. I assume that I will still have to pay the $1.00/ticket fee but will not have to pay the service charge.

It really is a bargain, and so easy to sign up for, and then to cancel at anytime.

Minny actually outscored us in the second half. We've tended to play better in the first half most of the season. We aren't very deep and we are smaller than every team that we play so I think our kids do get a little tired.

We should be an ideal destination for a transfer big.
I had forgotten that Bostic was a transfer after her freshman year. Listed as a junior now, so she should have 1 year left. Lopez is listed as a Sr and came in out of JC. Technically I’d think she could play another year if she wanted due to covid rules, but IDK how common that is on the Ladies side or if she would be offered a 5th year spot by Green. We have a couple other centers on the roster, but I know nothing about them other than Ndour is a Junior transfer and Taponen is a freshman from Finland.

She was on ESPN radio this week, and said she will play two more seasons here after this one.
