Question for anyone with some insight into Dain. What are his plans for his collegiate career? He is an old freshman, but without any perimter game as of now the league isnt going to come running for a freshman in his 20's. I salivate at the prospects of him being a 24/25 year old senior in Champaign with seasoned Hansberry and budding beast in Morez alongside him.
I think with every player, you just take it one year at a time. I see no reason why he would be anywhere other than Champaign-Urbana for 2023-24 where he is all but certain to start and have a huge role. From there, you see where he's at the next year. I thought Dainja had two more years of eligibility after this season because he appeared in three games for Baylor in 2021-22.

You know the conference is down when NW is 6-3 and in 2nd place. Do they finish above .500 with 11 games left?
Just because NW has been a laughing stock for the B1G in basketball for almost every year of existence (less their one tourney year), they have been very solid most of the year, with exception of blow out losses vs Pitt and Ohio State. They very nearly upset Auburn in non-conference play.

It is a poor take to judge the quality of the B1G based solely on NW being in 2nd place at end of January. NW has a difficult stretch to close the year, and I personally believe they will end the B1G season at 10-10 (their schedule gets much more difficult soon). Their next 4 games will be huge for them @ Iowa, vs Mich, @ Wisc, @ OSU. If they go 2-2, I believe they get to 10-10, if they go 3-1, they likely get to 11-9. Otherwise, I see them at around 9 wins in B1G play. Their last 7 games vs Purdue, vs IU, vs Iowa, @ Illini, @ MD, vs PSU, @ Rutgers will be a significant challenge for them.

We are finally starting to see some differentiation in the B1G tiers (there was a lot of parity between 2 and 12 in the league), and I believe there will be around 3-4 teams ranked by B1G Tourney time as the schedule plays out.

He has exceeded my expectations on both offense and defense. I hope is part of the team for another coupe years. Hansberry and MJ would be undersized as 5's in the big 10 and I don't know of other offers out to true posts so maybe that is a good sign that the staff feels he is staying.

On the downside I think his spin move to the left has been scouted and he is being overplayed for it.

Everything I can find suggests he is a redshirt sophomore. He took a redshirt during Baylors championship run (20-21)& was injured last year. (21-22)

No question, this day in age you take it day by day. You might be correct on his eligibility, but he is listed as a freshman. I just think we have something special with him and he doesn't getting the love here as he should. Also, do not get me started on my man crush on Epps and Ty. If we can get old with those 3 and pepper in spicy talent....Brad better fingers are gonna be heavy with B1G rings.

Monsieur, don't sleep on our French kid.

Agreed, don't sleep on Perrin, he was awesome at the FIBA U18 European Championships this August. I think he should make France's team for the FIBA U19 World Cup in Hungary from June 24 - July 2. That'll be a good showcase to see how he stacks up. Hopefully the time in the weight room right now will be beneficial.

If true, then he's a red shirt Freshman. I agree with Bogey.

20-21 - Redshirt (sat out)
21-22 - Injury (sat out)
22-23 - His first year playing

With that said, I'm not exactly sure how 2021-22 will be treated. His first season at Baylor, however, looks like a legitimate red shirt year.

Big Ten season is about half way over what are your power ratings for the Big Ten.

Right now I have
1. PU
2. IU
3. RU (they beat PU)
4. NW (they beat us)
5. PSU (they beat us)
6. MD (they beat us)
7. Illini
8. MSU (we beat them and they beat Iowa
9. Iowa
10. Wisky
11. O$U
12. scUM
13. Neb
14. Minnesota

3-9 I can make an argument swapping positions. Lots of basketball left and we haven’t played RU PU or Iowa yet

Indiana has the upper hand. Already beat us at home and we play them again on the road.

1. PU (clearly)
2. IU (their hyphenated duo is formidable)
3. UI (we finish in 2nd place)
4. RU (elite D)
5. NU (nice little team)
6. PSU (won by 20 and lost by 20 in the same week)
7. Iowa (Kris Murray is good)
8. MD (will find out more when they play IU Tuesday)
9. MSU (good enough to beat teams that are worse than they are)
10. UM (talented enough to get lucky every once in a while)
11. UW (Lost 6 of their last 7)
12. OSU (Lost 8 of their last 9)
13. Neb (almost beat Purdue)
14. MN (would probably be better if the hardwood was replaced with ice)

Hansberry isn't quite as quick-twitch athletic as Rodgers, but he's a heckuva athlete. And definitely a better shooter. Sky's the limit. Can't wait 'til he gets here.
The videos I've seen he doesn't look like that good of a run-jump athlete. But he looks like he's got skills and Moxie. Sort of like Epps - he just knows how to play.

As long as Skyy isn’t the limit. Hoping he hangs around and is productive for more than one semester.
