According to Jay Wright, this is a really good Illinois team that just ran into Ohio St. at the wrong time. Is that because Ohio St. has been playing such good basketball?

We had our chance when we cut it to 53-52. We had them on their heels. Then we do the one thing we've sucked at all season long: shoot a three.
We don't take smart shots or play smart basketball for that matter.
This is was a monumental failure from the players and staff. Why wasn't Dain utilized more? This is a game he should have been feasting inside all game long.

We just jack up 25 footers. Maybe give the biggest guy on the floor by over 50 pounds and 4 inches a touch?!?! Seems to work well for Purdue...

Four more games until we can start looking forward to next season being different.
We have a way of bringing out the best in opposing people/ teams.
That is not the gameplan. The fact that they go out there and do that and it’s clearly not the gameplan is what makes watching this team so unpleasant.
And to be fair, until we got some buckets in transition we were well under 50% from inside the arc. Nothing worked today.
In an effort to not make the postgame thread a complete dumpster fire, hats off to Ty Rodgers for another complete effort on both ends of the floor. He had like 8 “offensive rebounds” that he won’t get credit for just for fighting and being in the right spot. Thought his defense was excellent once again, and I’ve never seen him take a possession off. Hope that dude is wearing the Orange and Blue for as long as possible and his effort rubs off on everyone else that’s a part of this program.
Even WCIA didn't wanna deal with letting us watch the end of the game.
A three cut it to one. I don’t mind threes I just want open ones. I do think we need a post player besides Dain but we don’t have any.
It's a very disappointing loss. But not playing Dain more was definitely not the reason. He got exposed in the first half and we had to go small.
I just wish RJ or Goode shot 1of those three each
Please get some transfer shooters next year.
