That is not the gameplan. The fact that they go out there and do that and it’s clearly not the gameplan is what makes watching this team so unpleasant.

And to be fair, until we got some buckets in transition we were well under 50% from inside the arc. Nothing worked today.
I don't know man. Brad should pull these players (Jayden, Coleman, etc...) that decide the best plan on offense is to jack up 25-30 footers. I'm convinced Coleman thinks that he gets more points the further that he shoots the ball. Brad needs to rip into this team and tell them that we are shooting WAY too many shots that we can get whenever we want them. But he just lets those same culprits play and jack up stupid shots that occasionally go in.

We are now an 8 seed. Beat Michigan and win one game in the btt and we avoid that fate. Just not good enough in any ways today, so frustrating
Why do you think they’re so inconsistent? Tons of talent.

According to Jay Wright, this is a really good Illinois team that just ran into Ohio St. at the wrong time. Is that because Ohio St. has been playing such good basketball?

Or maybe, it was Ohio St. who ran into the right team at the right time.
Yep. We can beat any team and lose to any team. No change from yesterday.

He didn't really have much impact on the game, but I've been wanting to type this:
No likey Likekele.
Thought maybe that would help make this game feel better. It did not.

What do you think he says to them? And if you sat everyone who didn’t run the offense on this team you’d struggle to get five guys on the floor.. it starts from the top and Mayer and Shannon are two of the worst offenders.

What have you seen that shows otherwise?

Worst loss of the year
From a timing standpoint, this loss hurts the most. It was a road game though, and if you don't bring it, this is what happens.

BUT this was far from the worst loss of the year. The Mizzou loss was far and away the worst loss of the year for me, followed by the crash to reality loss at home to Penn St after beating Texas.

If the team spirals after today's loss, then I will agree with you. Otherwise, this is simply recency bias in full motion.

Regroup and beatdown Mich, then play with nothing to lose at Purdue. Still a lot of basketball ahead, despite what doomsdayers say after a bad loss to a young OSU team.

Could be one-n-done in BTT

Plenty of talent. Either it is not focused or well integrated or both

Not to give them any excuses, but the four games in eight days and having to mount huge comebacks in two straight games caught up with them.
It isn't like the game opens with a double digit deficit. The team puts itself in a position to have to mount huge comebacks.

Mayer's on the floor because he shoots well. He's one of the best shot creators in the nation, and its not close, we live with him. I agree, TSJ needs to get a grip and realize he's just better going down hill than shooting the ball. That's on Brad to let him know his role on this team. But that should've been done in November, not March.

Up to this point this team is Brads greatest failure. Perhaps if we could see the behind the scenes situation I’d say the opposite, but from a distance…massively underachieving group that doesn’t reflect their coach’s culture.

Kind of perplexing how everyone on the team simultaneously goes cold from three. Not the first time.

At least our team gets to participate in March Madness, but my lord is this team poorly coached. These players have no idea what to do or where to be out there. Just a bunch of desperate one on one. Puts way too much pressure on Shannon and TSJ when we play like that. Underwood's rotation are also brutal. Just throwing darte.

The proverbial straw. I’m officially checking out til next season. I was actually dumb enough to think after UCLA and Texas that this team was 89, 05 capable . Couldn’t have been more wrong. Play with a low b-ball IQ. No mental toughness. No urgency. Unable to force their will on a 3-14 opponent. Despite everyone in the free world knowing what you need to do offensively and defensively the players and the coach seem clueless. We don’t punch anyone in the mouth but are the recipient of such punches. Will not be shocked at all if we don’t win another game this year. That includes big ten tourney and NCAA tournament. Blame goes pretty much all around but Brad has to take the brunt of it as this has gone on for most of the second half of season.

I agree... but Shannon and TSJ are the same person lol
