Hawk needs to work on trajectory on his jumper and FT to make that jump. Cook could shoot in and IMO Hawk should return because as an 28 percent three point shooter from collegiate distance that’s an area that needs some off season work and adjustments. I hope everyone we add in the portal can provide much needed perimeter shooting.
Better shot selection would help his 3-pt shooting % a lot. I don't think his form is that bad. It's just that a lot of his attempts are bad attempts.

I don’t get why this is the perception by a lot of people around Duke right now…
Krzyzewski has had worse seasons than this after all…unless you mean banner in the sense of the lofty heights of Duke…but it ain’t over yet.

I cant believe I’m defending Duke yet again.

In addition to putting together a pretty respectable season in Scheyer’s first season at the helm…they’re sitting at 23 wins NOW and they are picked to win their conference tournament. That’s not too shabby.

because the ACC was awful this year - Lville, GTech, ND, BC, FSU = Average NET of 211
good ACC teams get nearly 6-10 bye games
Duke's best wins are NET 22, 37, 49
Their NET is higher than ours since their 10 Q4 wins are average 231 NET but our 7 Q4 wins are average 320
A good predictive analytical formula should give little distinction between 200 and 300 NET
Their Q1-Q wins are on average 20 lower than ours
Our only Q2 loss is away 56 to theirs is away 91

I really understand the excitement of having Shannon come back…I really, really do…but I don't understand why anyone wouldn’t be as equally excited to have Hawkins back…I really, really don’t. @pruman91 voice

Hawkins does so many good things on the court and his versatility is a great asset.

Both are great players. Shannon however would be a top 5-10 player in college basketball next year though. 2nd year here, an offseason to improve the three a bit more, etc

Coleman's Dad said he's more than likely gone after this year. Shannon OTOH, is moving closer to coming back. Of course if you had to pick between the 2 to comeback it would clearly be Shannon.
Would actually rather have Coleman back, pretty clearly the more important player to the team overall, so at the very least I’d drop the “clearly.”

Of course, would be ecstatic to have either return.

IHSA website posted the Final 4 team's stats.

Certa is scoring 26.5 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 2.4 apg, 48% FG, 36.3% 3 pt, 78.3% FT (little disappointed in the 3 pt%)

Phoenix Gill 11.1 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 2,7 ppg, 50.8% FG, 35% 3 pt, 76.2% FT

A guy brought up on here in the past in passing, Ethan Kizer from Metamora is getting 13.9 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 2.3 apg, 45.2% FG, 40.5% 3 pt, 67.1% FT. Not saying we should have recruited him, but Metamora is a very balanced team with 4 starters averaging 10 ppg or more. I am saying that this guy is also a 6'6" athletic player that should have been recruited harder by Illinois State and Bradley. He's going to South Alabama.

His numbers are consistent and don’t lie. The shot is flat and something need to change. Good shooters don’t have those numbers and explain shooting in the 60s from the line for two seasons. I am concerned with him at the line in close games for a good reason, Hawk stuggles. His shot looks pretty flat comeoated to most good shooters. I do think he can improve some with hard work either here or elsewhere. I don’t think that will be on an NB A roster and with NIL $$ why not recruit him to stay another year
