Find a way to get Sean … That’s the answer to both questions …
I'm late to the party on this....the whole work thing got in the way. Let's just assume that BU is on a bit of a fishing expedition. We're talking about the same Sean Miller that got bounced out of AZ for some unsavory recruiting practices? He's been at Xavier for one year and he's already open to bailing after they gave him his career back? I'm sure he's a nice guy, but his resume would have a few red flags on it. Fired + short stay at his next job.....not exactly a hiring manager's dream.

I believe someone referenced already OK State’s connection to the same investigation

For any of you that are NHL fans, the six year mark is pretty recognized as the end of most head coaching tenures there. Style, substance, personality, relationships…etc. It all seems to come to a head around year six in all but the most ridiculously successful examples.

In today's NIL world, what he did at Arizona is peanuts and not an issue anymore. And staying at a program one year ... hmm ... who did we hire some years back that was only at a program for one year? Hmm.

The million dollar question in my mind…

What does Whitman have to say about the Daddy Warbuck$e$ trying to tell Brad how to coach…did he intervene on his behalf?
Is it telling him how to coach? Or is it Brad saying “we want the NIL money to go this player” and the donor saying “well we aren’t sure about that guy but we’ll give money to this other player/recruit”

For real, it's not that serious, chill out.
Thanks, dad.

Point is there is some kind of rift between JW and BU that is becoming public. And my guess is that the leaks have been intentional. JW knows what he is doing. How big a rift, I don't know. But according to people on here that I trust, this isn't a typical situation of a coach just picking up the phone as a courtesy. It's a habitual behavior from BU and his agent. And JW is frustrated by that. And he's publicly courting a replacement. And I'm sure that both sides know how each other feels.

So, back to my original point that you so politely dismissed, there is some awkwardness that is going to be difficult to move on from if Brad stays and it could be the type of thing that fractures the trust between JW and BU for good. And that could make it difficult to build for the future.

Was there anything specific that you disagree with? Or is there something you know that we don't? Please tell.

I pitched you the softball and you knocked it into the upper deck!!!

This whole "coach yells and the kidz todaaays don't like it" needs to end. Coaches yell. Water is wet. The sky is (most days) blue.

Yep - all of Sean’s former players … They LOVE him … They’d go to war for Sean …

He’s been to like 10 Pacers games this year to support TJ and Mathurin … Mark Lyons speaks more highly of Sean than anyone else …

Good players take tough coaching … And become great players …

Eh, most coaches yell. There's a difference between yelling in a practice and completely getting dressed down in a game.
I've yet to see that happen.

And TBH, there's more time during practice to patiently coach someone up than there is during a game. If you are intentionally not running the play, you should expect to get an earful, this isn't pee wee league.

I like BU, and truly appreciate his leading the Illini out of the wilderness. But, JMHO, if he can get Sean Miller, I hope that JW will do whatever it takes to go get him. Added on, and not a small add-on, would be a possible dream team of ACs. I've always thought that Miller is a top 5 coach, and didn't really think he'd be a possibility.

I always thought our insiders were pretty uniformly pro-Brad.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting some of what @Indy Illini Fan is saying, but it sure seems like he prefers at least one alternative.

I'm hoping for long-term continuity. I'm not smart enough to know the best path to that goal.
