A coyote was spotted waiting patiently outside the State Farm Center today. What does it mean? What does it mean?

Are we pursuing someone from the UTSA Road Runners? Are we snagging a point guard from the Cal San Bernardino Yotes? Is it Jeff Van Gundy’s spirit animal?

This must mean something!!!

He heard we were looking for Dawgs and showed up for an in-person tryout! He got that Dawg in him!

Unless Shannon and Hawkins go pro and we spend our whole kitty (pun intended!) on him, and maybe not even then, no world exists in which Illinois is anywhere close to the top bidder for Campbell's services, and the idea that an assistant coach he decommitted from during the Obama Administration has such special persuasion ability that he could flip that calculus is, well, a Loyalty-tastic way of looking at college basketball recruiting.
Plenty of money for all 3 but alright. Tyger and family and TA are as tight as they come but alright. Transfer portal recruiting is all transactional it's different than prep recruiting but you seem to know how it all works so alright!

While Dainja is the Illini's best post-up player he is not a good enough passer to run the offense through him. For example HD is notably better at passing out of the post. HD seems like a doubtful get but Hansberry could well fill the bill as a low post option that the offense can rotate through.
Sure, we don't necessarily want to run offense through Dainja in the post, but as the endpoint of the play against certain matchups Dain approaches a Kofi-like guaranteed two points and we will keep that threat going next year.

So what was it about RayJ that he planned returning to Toledo after withdrawing from the draft process? Was that actually ever said? Speculation? Change his mind?
Exactly the same as Tyger, he is likely to make the money-maximizing choice for himself because he's not an idiot.

(FWIW, I do actually think RayJ vs Tyger is a worthwhile argument, especially given how much Illinois specifically needs shooting from that role on next year's team. Tbh I'm not sure why the trail went cold on Jalen Cone, he might have made the most sense of all.)

Uh oh, guys, I'm getting reports of a Fighter of the Nightman post...

All kidding aside, you're 100% correct.

Everybody in Pac 12 — even those leaving — hates Oregon.
Can confirm for UW and WSU fanbases I know - both hate Oregon pretty hard. Like we hate Iowa hard. Oregon is considered an illegitimate power that cheats its way to get there.

Eagerly awaiting the rude awakening Oregon athletics is due once Knight passes away, and the corporates at Nike aren’t as willing to keep dumping crazy money into the Ducks program like Knight does.

We had so many situations last year where we were forced to play lineups that had no way to produce buckets.

In this hypothetical future we'd have a lot of lineups out there with Dennis, Shannon and Domask (all very high usage players used to the offense running through their hands) where a lot of individual plays are built around a Dainja post-up. A very different conundrum!

Even with last year's struggles I retain a ton of faith in BU from a "how do these pieces work together on a basketball floor" perspective. In many ways he made last year's team look like less of a mess than it was.

Harmon won't play much assuming good health. Domask has so many odds and ends in his game I can see him adapting to a less ball-heavy focus. Shannon will get his and will benefit from less demand on him to conjure offense in every situation. It's Dennis where I kinda wonder how less of the ball in his hands is gonna work. That guy has very possibly taken more career shots than any returning player in college basketball.
Who is Dennis lol

Having those conversations in a serious and open minded way and then choosing the rational moment to move on to more promising avenues are both signs of the kind of charismatic and intelligent recruiting that the BU administration has been so much better at than their predecessors.

Good jobs done all around.

No slight to TA, but because the truth must be said: No he didn't.
If you knew half the stuff you act like you do, you'd be the best college basketball coach alive.

Just trying to catch up . . .

IF Coleman and Terrance come back, we still have two scholarships available. Correct?

Looking for a PG and a big. Correct?

Ooh, Louisville would be amazing.

But if BU decides he still wants to be somewhere else next offseason and John Calipari is available, Josh Whitman should back up the dang Brinks truck and all of this board's reasons against that are wrong and bad.
Gross. He’s a disgrace to the vowel.

You don't think he is going to leave the university a ton of money when he passes?

0440 is right. We have the money.

Edit: from what I heard we were trying to get for TJ to stay, we can compete with pretty much anyone.
