This is the first I’ve seen with DW as the first pick. Does Carolina have that much of a need right now at CB or is it just that his stock has risen since his pro day? Or is this just another talking head not really analyzing team needs / draft strategies when projecting the draft?

Also, just for easy reference here is the draft order…
No one is suggesting he would be the first pick. The article simply says he is the top corner.

I've been reading so many mock drafts for the last couple of weeks that my head starts spinning sometimes , but my general understanding is Spoon will go between # 6 & # 16............Sydney Brown will be in top 50-60 and J-mart and Chase will be in the # 120-140 range............

I will try and read some more today after I do a couple of errands for NL # 3......later.................

Thank you for putting in the work on the Illinisis.

Don’t have the time to read through 4 pages at the moment … Although I’m sure there’s so much good info in here and I’ll come back to it …

I am friends with a lot of NFL scouts and a few GMs as I’ve stated here many times … I was able to chit chat with a current GM today …

He told me … “Spoon kid will be top 10 and don’t be shocked if he goes as high as 3 to the cardinals … They think he could be a Patrick Peterson type of guy for them” …

I’ll just say this guy has some serious familiarity with the new AZ Cardinals HC and would definitely know what’s going on with that team … Would be awesome to see Spoon go top 3 but even top 10 … INCREDIBLE …

Reading is fundamental. My bad.

Quan is quite likely to be picked before Sydney. His versatility is highly valued.

That could be true , as the days went by going towards the draft I saw Quan's name mentioned more and more in the mock draft's and Chase's name started popping up more also.......Quan opened up a lot of eyes at the combine and good for him.......Just having at least 4 players picked would be so awesome for them and the Illini going forward ,,,,I bet BB would love to be able to say in a recruit's living room that the Illini had that many players picked in the draft.........

Lions fan here. How interested are they in Spoon and, if so, could they possibly move up to get him if they don't see him being there at 6?

Seems like a lot of teams are split between Spoon and Gonzalez going first at CB. I would be highly shocked if Spoon went at #3. Not saying Anderson Jr will pan out but most years without QBs at the top he is the clear cut #1 pick.

Great news for the Bears if Spoon goes at 3.

The Spoon vs. Gonzalez debate between scouts is a clear cut breakdown between valuing what you see on film versus the athletic measurables of the draft process in a CB. Spoon threw a season-long no hitter last year, Gonzalez is a freakazoid. Both very good prospects.

Very, very interested … They were well represented at the pro day …

Patriots LOVE Spoon … But he ain’t gonna be there at 14 … Bill thinks he’s like Stephon Gilmore …
Thanks! Hoping the Lions can reunite Spoon and Kerby, and maybe even Quan or Sydney.

I’m a little confused as to why Bijan Robinson from UT is being considered as a first round pick and Chase isn’t.

Granted, Robinson had a higher YPC and more TDS last year, but they have similar measurables, looks like Robinson is maybe 10 lbs heavier but their 40 times are about the same.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not sure I would spend a first round pick on any RB. I think the later rounds are filled with Chase Browns/Khalil Herbert’s etc and you’re better off getting one of them and spending your draft picks and cap $$ elsewhere. But I don’t get the hype around Robinson.

Seen Will McClay and crew around much? Usually he likes his Big Ten players, but this my team is fairly well covered at secondary and way too late to be in on Spoon. I know Avery might be visit.
