The hardest thing to find in football, even in the NFL, is big guys that can move.

Avery is a big guy that can move.
At 325 he can jump way higher than I ever could, even when I was young and fit. Geez.

reminds me when the Bears drafted William "Fridge" Perry. Duder was 340 and was shown jumping up and down from a concrete wall that was well over 24" high .

I forget how high it was, but it was a remarkable feat given his size.
That dude could move.
The first real "athletic" fat guy in the NFL that I can recall .

Draft Insider Thinks Chicago Bears May Pull A Shocker At #9

GM Ryan Poles has always said his primary focus when acquiring players is value. He wants to get the best value possible with every free agent signing and draft pick that he makes. That is why it can be difficult to predict what he will do for the Chicago Bears going into the 2023 draft. Everybody was convinced last season he would focus on wide receivers. Then he doubled down on defensive backs. Perhaps another swerve could be coming despite the hot rumors that they’re targeting either a defensive tackle or an offensive tackle.

However, Jordan Reid of ESPN thinks there is a possibility it might go a different way. He decided to take a look at the draft if teams went by value. Based on his projections, the Bears wouldn’t take a lineman on either side of the ball. Instead, they’d go right back to where they started last year.

REID’S PICK THAT GETS BEST VALUE: DEVON WITHERSPOON, CB, ILLINOIS
WITHERSPOON IS THE TOP REMAINING PLAYER ON MY BOARD. YES, THERE ARE BIGGER NEEDS, BUT ADDING AN AGGRESSIVE CORNER TO COACH MATT EBERFLUS’ DEFENSE WOULD HELP THE CONTINUED RETOOL ON THAT SIDE OF THE BALL. WITHERSPOON’S INSTINCTS AND POLISHED TECHNIQUE FIT IN WELL HERE.

I saw the Fridge doing the same thing onto one of those big green or grey metal desks. I did it at work after I saw him, but weighed about 135 at the time. 5'11", so the opposite of him.

I don’t think Weatherspoon is still available at 9

Bears host local pro day in advance of NFL Draft

When Michael Marchese was a teenager growing up in Vernon Hills, he would often make the 20-minute trek to Halas Hall and dream of playing for the Bears.

For at least one glorious day Thursday, fantasy became reality for Marchese, who was among the Chicago area prospects who participated in the Bears' local pro day in advance of the April 27-29 NFL Draft.

"I used to drive around my car and see the practice fields and just kind of dream like, 'I want to be out there,'" said Marchese, a tight end who attended Stevenson High School and the University of Illinois. "So, it's pretty cool. When I was rolling in, it gave me goosebumps."

Marchese arrived at Illinois as a walk-on in 2017, initially playing safety before moving to linebacker in 2020 and then tight end in 2021. Last year he appeared in 13 games, catching nine passes for 142 yards and two touchdowns. In the classroom, he earned a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in management.

Marchese describes himself as a "huge" Bears fan who would love to join his favorite team.

"Growing up a Bears fan, it's my childhood dream," he said. "[Auditioning] for the coaches and the front office, it's really just a dream come true. It's awesome to come out here and be part of the Bears today."

OT is this weird position that actually has a surprisingly high bust rate I think, and I'm not sure I want either as high as 9....

Imo I'm trading back again I think to be honest unless someone really jumps out.

Then again, I'm not a NFL GM and have no clue lol.
If both are there, the Bears could drop a few spots and pick up a possible 2 depending on how desperate a team is to move up. I like the Bears can work the draft and get the most from their picks.

And yet Buddy Ryan would not play him.

Ain't gonna get drafter, but whichever team gets Tommy DeVito as a camp arm is gonna find a diamond in the rough. Plenty of NFL teams went clear down to third string QBs and Tommy is every bit as good as those. NFL teams ain't as smart as they think they are. Look at how wise the Green Bay top draft pick at QB they made a few years ago. No one outside of Wisconsin knows what his name is.

I do not understand why Levis is falling in every mock draft. Everyone seems to like Richardson from Florida. I am still holding out the possibility that two of the top 4 QBs will fall to 9 and both Skoronski and Johnson are there, the Bears could trade down a few spots to get another 2 possibly. It’s risky, but another 2 could give them a chance to maneuver more in the draft to get the right players.

He wasn't actually that good last year. Neither was Anthony Richardson, but Richardson has other attributes teams are (probably incorrectly) falling in love with.
Being in the UK area I've gotten to know a lot of fans of BBN... Most think it's hilarious that Levis was/is projected as a 1st round draft pick.

From watching him myself...meh, you get him in the 2nd/3rd round then you can justify it but not the 1st.

This is the first I’ve seen with DW as the first pick. Does Carolina have that much of a need right now at CB or is it just that his stock has risen since his pro day? Or is this just another talking head not really analyzing team needs / draft strategies when projecting the draft?

Also, just for easy reference here is the draft order…
