I think it's more than the flavor of the month. Kansas won it last year with upper classman (zero five star recruits) as did Baylor the year before. Hard to believe that Mathew Mayer was a junior coming off the bench for that team.

Amazing both Braun and Ogbaji were outside the top 100. You’d think the way some fans post that wouldn’t even be remotely possible to win a title with such players.

Oh look I don't want to denigrate the guy, and sure, perhaps injury problems were a major contributor to his struggles.

Sam Maniscalco was badly hobbled by an ankle injury. We called him our one legged point guard. He is not a good example to make your case.

I would take a healthy Maniscalco as my point guard. He actually outplayed McCamey in Vegas in November 2009.
