Nice to see you switching things up. Would have expected you to be more like “BU only really has one conference championship and that’s one less than Greg Gard”
Ya know, I developed this reputation for being Mr. Sky Is Falling under the likes of Weber, Zook, Beckman, Lovie, Groce, et al. The sky was falling!

The way this board has swung from wanting BU gone and replaced with Sean Miller to incredibly hyped to add Hunter Dickinson to the team to now totally buying into going the mercenary route again, is that "positivity"? I'm probably combining different people's opinions into one blob unfairly, but I really struggle to understand where this board is at sometimes.

Our insiders are a lot of fun, but I feel like the whole "wheels are in motion! buckle up! the boom gifs are coming!" thing is empty calories.

I'm more interested in discussing our staff's recurring determination to have a positionless roster when during BU's tenure the less positionless we've been, the better we've played.

*I* think BU has cracked the code here with a big back-to-the-basket center as an anchor. And I worry that *he* doesn't think that.

I believe so....my best friend growing up, his grandfather was Paul. Have fond memories of raiding his candy counter, "helping" make the chili and playing a slot machine that he had in his basement :)
It’s not open anymore and I am an insider on this one.

The awesome thing about our 2021 Big Ten Championship isn't that we know we're the real winners. It's that MICHIGAN knows we're the real winners.

We went to Ann Arbor and humiliated them without Ayo, they know in their hearts they are fake champions and it's really us. And that's what college sports is all about.

I am a proponent of a 10 man rotation which includes playing and developing young players. Iowa does it as they have developed quality players over the past several years under Fran. MSU does it, Maryland does it. But we do not. Name me one player that we have developed. I can name 1. Giorgi. That is it. Brad erred
Yeah, you lost me here. They’ve developed Frazier, Ayo, Kofi, Feliz, Da’Monte, Hawkins. Leron Black improved a lot in his 1 year with BU and staff. I’d argue Kipper developed into a really solid role player. I could also argue Shannon developed into a better all around player last year. Rodgers showed improvement as the season progressed. The thought that BU and his staff haven’t developed guys is ignorance.

2005 was a long time ago now. It’s time to make the second weekend of the tournament, at a minimum.

Yes, the BTT title and conference title are great accomplishments, but last years topsy turvy season soured those fond memories.

The 22-23 season was sold as a team built for March and that didn’t come close to happening with all the dysfunction throughout the year.
I'm not understanding the benefit of overselling our team in the off-season. Last year's team actually performed about like I expected. But if you listened to the hype you'd be disappointed.

Eh, it’s not that I listened to the hype, but a team “built for March” should, well, win in March.

Our lone March win came against Michigan on 3/2. After that we closed on a very strong 3 game L streak. I’d hope most would be disappointed with those results, too.

Not sure how to feel about guerrier visiting. What does this mean to rodgers he in fact commits?

Not sure where all this QG worrying is coming from. We need depth, insert depth piece.
I think it signifies one of two things. Either he’s our big man addition and places along with Hawkins, Dain, and Hansberry upfront or Hawkins is leaving and we still need another transfer big.

I think both scenarios are a little more disappointing than just getting a star big man transfer, but I’m more than content with adding him and a PG along with TSJ and Hawkins.

You're conveniently ignoring that we had no PG by March. And it's hard to win games w/o a competent PG.

In November, you could say we were built for March assuming that the roster stayed as it was. That's not the case.

This does not address the wisdom of relying on a guy that played for four different high schools and committed to three different colleges.

but the made for March mantra wasn't just a preseason and early season talking point, it continued throughout the season even after some of the team changes.

The only reason last year’s team was overhyped is because we somehow beat 2 top 10 teams in the first 2 months when no college basketball team truly had an established identity yet. Then we were “national championship good” heading into the first Penn State game.

Sure, there was offseason “hype” last year, but I don’t think anyone in their heart of hearts last October believed we had the roster construction to make a Final Four with how much we’d have to rely on a freshman point guard, nor do I think next year’s team will truly that have that hype barring some ridiculous Shannon / Hawkins / Dickinson / Dennis run in the portal
