Appreciate it, but eh, it's all good. Clearly I should have actually taken the past 20 years worth of PGs from midmajors who transitioned to a power conference then built an engine to correlate RayJ's stats based on height, weight, shooting%, team efficiency and strength metrics, assist, steal, rebound, block, and turnover ratios, modified 2pt and 3pt fg%, and free throw percentage. Then using the closest at least 299 profiles to cover for likely non-normality, create curves based on junior to senior year differentials, pretend to do an Anderson-Darling test for normality but really skip right ahead to determining Weibullness or Pearsonality because things are never normal in the real world, and finally, likely go to using a nonparametric procedure to build confidence intervals to give T50, T95, and T5 projections to give people an actual statistical projection of the range that will likely envelop where RayJ would actually produce. And having a stats background, I definitely know better than to sloppily throw out comparisons that could be misconstrued as actual statistical analysis, but let's face it, it's midnight, I see comments on how RayJ's stats need to be discounted because he's from Toledo, or comparisons to Andre Curbelo and Deron Williams, and it piqued my interest. What can I say, other than I'm a glutton for punishment, lol...

In any case, I appreciate the positivity in your post. And yeah, I may have worked with Ken many moons ago... But hey, I'm a layperson now, lol, so I need to start acting like it.

I guess I should probably write here for everyone else is that similar to what you said, what I did was a comparison between RayJ and the midmajor transfer PG whose metrics and playing stats best correlates to RayJs rather than an actual statistical analysis, and the "extrapolation" was simply showing how RayJ's numbers could effectively change in B10 play and how he'd rank if he followed the exact same course, something that indeed will not happen. He may be better, he may be worse, who knows? But that is just a single example based on the player who statwise most closely resembles RayJ, such that people have some frame of reference.
And that is why I could never stay awake in a stats class.

Many of you are not equating how much easier everyones jobs are with a component pg. We had no one last year setting up teammates to succeed. Putting them in positive situations and getting easy buckets. It takes so much pressure off of the scorers. A pg like this is vital to success. Its massive

Shannon and Hawkins especially will benefit. When they set their feet and allow a proper follow through they have good enough form to be good shooters. When they free wheel and deal they are aiming the ball and can be way off.

Building teams would be so much easier if the pieces really were Plug and Play.
