Seriously, I know Arkansas has NIL, but if your an established player, why go there - some of them are only going to get 20-25 mpg versus 30ish they are used too.

Correct, 54 teams. That "standard" that apparently was beneath us was a tie for second in the Big Ten and a 7 seed in the tournament. And as you indicated, the Illini had been to one NCAA tournament in the prior 20 years (2 years earlier in '80-81). But asking people on a message board to have any perspective is a fools errand.

Do you realize Shooting and Scoring are not the same thing? Yes, Rodgers is not a good shooter, but to make the statement that he isn’t a threat to score when he clearly demonstrated in games last year that he can score, is absolutely absurd.

Also, sagging off a guy like Ty, with his passing ability and his ability to drive, is a bad idea. Leaving a good passer wide open to pick his passes will lead to easy baskets. And giving Ty a head of steam or open lane to drive will lead to layups and fouls (which are bad for opponents, whether or not Ty makes his freethrows). They may not have to guard him all the way to the three point line, but if they don't guard him, it will be good for Illinois.
