No, because we didn't get a guy from Toledo while also passing on multiple other PGs that wanted to come here who are now at other schools.

Also mentioned how this happens almost every year that we are missing one key piece. This is just another year like the others and at some point we're going to have to want something more as a fanbase.
Every year? We had 2 PG's going into last year. Brad is not at fault for Sky quitting on the team and Epps basically doing the same 10 games into the big ten season and getting hurt. We had NO PG the last 15 games of the season. Our roster depth was 8 players. We have PG's multiple on the roster now. If any can handle the ball, limit turnovers and shoot 33% from 3 we are already light years ahead of last year. Add a year older COHAwk, TSJ, Ty, Sincere, Dain, etc. I like where we stand. Yes, I wish we had RayJ but we don't and to act like we are in the same boat as last year is just not realistic.

Hansberry: HELL TO THE NO!

I’m not trying to kill the messenger here
BIG_G2332…but NO WAY…

I think I might have a serious existential crisis over that one.

* The nightmare scenario: We first cut AH or someone equally valuable to trim the roster…only to have one or more defections soon after. I think I would pluck out my eyeballs with a spoon. Lol.
Let’s stop the Harmon leaving bs. Let’s be real. He’s not going anywhere. Where else would he even go at this point? He’s not leaving Illinois and they don’t want him to leave. Stop it.

Sure, cool…I never even mentioned Harmon by name. So where did that come from? Re-read the post.

I also referred to it as a nightmare scenario…hence I didn’t want it to happen.

Also, I mentioned AH(Amani Hansberry) having to be creamed since that’s what the post was actually about.)

Unlike you who SPECIFICALLY suggested Quincy Guerrier would likely leave. So let’s lay off the QG leaving BS, huh? Where would he even go at this point. The staff doesn’t want him to leave. Stop It.

Multiple PGs? Where? Moretti will never be a Big10 guard. DGL is nowhere close to being able to play in the Big10. JWill probably won't even play most of the season because of his torn Achilles and even if he does he will not be the same player. And Harmon has no experience in P5 play and is definitely not a starter on a P5 team.

Also yes, every year we are missing a key piece to win games and most importantly, win in March. I didn't say every year we are missing PGs, not really sure what your point is with that. Missing a key piece can mean a lot of things other than not having a PG.

Imagine going from RayJ Dennis to counting on getting a waiver from NCAA to hand the keys to Jeremiah Williams… and claiming it’s clutch that we got Williams.. Brads a top paid coach and he constantly has massive learning lessons every year.. “we recruit every day guys” Was Andre an everyday guy? Was Adam? Was Skyy? Why are they all dipping if we have a culture.. We had 4 point guards when we lost to Loyola not a single 4 man now we have four 4 men and not a single point guard.. we have the money, the facilities, the conference, and the recruiting territory to be a power house but its always something. I truly don’t believe in Brad to get this university a title anymore
Chill! Not EVERY player is an everyday guy! How long have you been following the Illini! We never have 6 burger boys sitting in the bench. There are always holes where one position doesn’t quite measure up.
Brad is a good not great coach and does a fine job of making us competitive each year. Fighting for a top rung in the Big Ten.
You sure sound like a Johnny come lately and forgot the mess he inherited 5 years ago.
This is all uncharted waters with 4 transfers out and 5 transfers in each year. And he keeps winning.
I think he’s doing a great job and want him to stick around as our coach.

You obviously have never coached. It takes time. You preach what you want and expect as a coach and it takes time. Brad turned this program around very quickly and now we're competitive and everyone wants this title immediately or wants hi gone. Let's go with your approach and start all over. I bet that works out well! He's dealing with a lot of things that have changed since COVID, portals, etc. I'm damn proud to have him. If you're an Illini fan you should be too!

QG leaving is very more real and likely than Harmon leaving

Something about Williams that is not being talked about enough imo is multiple years of eligibility instead of just being a 1 year rental. Especially if they do add another guard it's nice to have a guy who already has experience, potentially 3 years left, and maybe locked in since he would lose a year if he transfers again.

With this team I'm also ok with a PG that can run an offense to a reasonable degree, be a plus paaser, and lock down on the defensive end.

I'm sure this has been addressed before but....we need a PG and we committed to someone that has 3 yrs but is injured and might not play for awhile/year...we need 1 more schollie....

10-15 years from now, when there's another EJ, Cliff, RayJ, this will go down in "Everything's fine, goodnight" loral. Just think how boring our lives might have been if RayJ picked Illinois :ROFLMAO:

I don’t wish anyone to leave, but genuine question: what are the rules for transfers “un-committing”? It’s not hard to imagine one (or more) of our incoming transfers seeking this option in light of Hawkins and Shannon withdrawing from the draft.
