I don’t have the energy or inclination to read 46 pages of this in the last thread (thank you Dan a for closing it) but in the conversation about creaning and can Brad count, has anyone asked if we even know who is on scholarship any longer? TSJ would be paying in-state tuition. How hard would it be to add enough NIL money to his “salary” to pay tuition, room, board and the taxes? I think the staff is smart enough to figure out a way around scholarship limits given the rules currently in effect.

Regarding a potential Reeves addition..
Certainly intriguing, but we're relying on a dude coming off a torn achilles to be the only true pg option. Maybe someone can, But I can't find any highlights of Reeves facilitating one iota. This is assuming Williams is not only 100% physically, but gets to pre-injury form in short order, which is a big ask imo. Trey Woodbury seems to be able to handle it better and be somewhat more of a pg in the event Williams isn't ready or can't return to form. I'd certainly be more open to this construction if it weren't for the injury of Williams which is why Woodbury seems like the better option in the short few highlights ive watched🤷‍♂️

Woodbury may not even be able to play in college next year (or ever)

Any info on the status of his waiver? From what I can see he’s played 5 years but in one year only played 2 games. Sounds like he’s entered the portal and applied for a waiver but I’ve seen conflicting info on whether it’s been granted or denied.

Everybody relax. We are not looking for a scoring point guard with the roster that is coming back.

We need somebody to run the offense and hit open shots. Woodbury seems to fit that mold? 8 hours after we miss and the staff is ready with a decent option.

Quote du Jour - Coleman Hawkns

“The reasoning behind going back is just feeling more comfortable with the start of my NBA journey,” Hawkins told ESPN. “I would have been a draft pick, but regarding the contracts, two-way deals -- nothing is guaranteed with those. Having another year of school would allow me to have a better start to my NBA career, hopefully getting a first-round, guaranteed contract.”

“NBA teams say they want me to be more aggressive,” Hawkins said. “Teams have mentioned confidence. Playing with amnesia. Forgetting about missed shots and just play my game. I am an elite shooter, but I didn't show that last year, so being more consistent with that will be important.”

That's pretty impressive. Shades of Trent Frazier.
His hustle and quickness on D is all well and good. But if he can't make our opponents pay for dropping off him and clogging up the lane, it severely limits his utility. Hopefully he can find his jumpshot, but if not, we saw last year how things work out when we play guards who can't shoot.

He's going to be healthy at the start of the year. Can he stay healthy? That's the question. They will either add Reeves or another pg if someone leaves
I'm sure he can play by start of this year but Achilles injuries usually take a lot longer to get back to even 90%. May not see his full potential until the following year. Would he still be asked to be a starter? If so, I will be skeptical until I see him actually on the floor

Wait..... We are bringing in Williams to START??? That sounds very risky.

Why would we bring in Reeves?? We have multiple wings already.
