It does appear we need to do a better job of vetting our roster, certainly. I agree with that. I think Domask especially was probably an attempt at finding some coachability/stability…I could be wrong but I am thinking being a coaches kid he likely has a good head on his shoulders. That’s not fair to Miller who played great as a freshman, deferred to Ayo, and left because he said he wanted a coach who trusted him and would let him play combo guard.
Curbelo’s issues seemed to either start at Illinois, or compound to the point of being a problem. Either way BU and his staff brought him in.
This is all besides my point - look at that list - 80% of 4 star PG/CGs they bring in all have fatal character flaws and it’s not the staffs fault?
Williams is very “iffy” The injury alone…then these other mystery personal issues…etc.
We’ve had enough of that drama.
I don’t agree with your stance on Miller.
I don’t think he’s a bad kid. Yes, he probably had people in his camp blowing smoke. But I’m not quite sure that completely makes me wanna give him a pass.
He played okay as a freshman not great. He had 2-3 really great games and quite a lot of ho hum ones. The kid started EVERYGAME as freshman. That’s not enough belief in him? That’s not enough of a seal of approval?
His skill set was properly assessed by the staff IMO. Even at LSU he was mostly utilized how we utilized him…as a spot up shooter.
He might develop into someone with combo guard capabilities at some point.
But at the time…I’d have to concur with the staff and say he had shooting guard written all over him.
