Or DGL.

You're not the first to voice concerns about this. It's not a death blow to the season though. I agree it caps our potential but we're still talented and experienced enough that we should have a safe floor regardless of who we trot out at pg.
This is where I'm at. Good coaching can make this a good season. I think our ceiling is lower than it would be with some of the guys we were after as well as some of the guys we apparently weren't after.

I think we'll enjoy this season, and maybe even love it if the stars align the right way.

"Since I was little, I’ve always practiced being a guard. I’ve always had guard skills. I’ve always been handling the ball,” Rodgers said. “I think my IQ was something that was higher, and I could always find open people." --StLouisToday

"I think that’s always been something that I could do,” Rodgers said. “I mean, I played point guard for most of my time throughout high school. So I feel like it was always something I could do. I was really just waiting on coach for what he wanted for this team. And now it’s time to implement that into our rotation, so I think it’s been good.” --StLouisToday

"Rodgers made his presence felt throughout the game, putting together a well-rounded highlight reel of dunks, spin moves, and crafty drives to the basket." --mlive

"Versatility marks his game with his ability to defend any position anywhere on the court and his ability to handle the basketball. Rodgers is the type of player that can be trusted with the basketball and can be trusted to compete at a high level." --247

"He is best as a scorer in the midrange and close range. Has a quick first step and can finish with touch in traffic. Is not a reliable long range shooter at this point but his range is improving. Is a solid and reliable ball handler who sees the court well and has a feel for delivering the timely pass." --247

For everyone hand wringing about the certain disaster of Ty at PG... it kinda doesn't sound like a certain disaster.
This statement makes me a bit more comfortable with Ty playing PG. Yet, anyone who has seen him play knows his value is rebounding and scoring around the hoop. His passing awareness and skill is also excellent and can be used as a facilitator. What makes me more comfortable is simply that he wants to play PG...and I admire what we have seen from him in regard to what is in his heart and character. We have seen Ty excel at virtually every position on the floor showing that he has all the skills and mental ability....except for perimeter shooting and FTs. For guys like that who have the desire to succeed for their team, he simply deserves the opportunity. Love this kid more every day.

This is a must read, really love what I see here from Ty. I'm officially letting go of any remaining "if only" thoughts about PG additions and hopes for shiny objects in the portal - I'm trusting our coach and our PG, the everyday guy that is Ty Rodgers. He more than earned that trust with his play as a freshman last year, and if he says he's ready to go and is putting in the work, his teammates trust him, and the culture is right, that's certainly good enough for me. Can't wait for basketball season. ILL!

These all time roster brings back some good memories. However without knowing if that roster had to play across multiple eras ie no shot clock no three point line it is hard to judge. Or do you want the best players or would you want a certain style. If you wanted a running team Kofi would not be on it.
However if you want the best team I would put the 05 roster plus Kofi Ayo Nick Anderson against anyone else. The 05 team had great chemistry and needed a big.
I think with the 05 team Leonard would be the ideal center. Just my opinion.

your culture is always better until you lose a game. kinda like
Tyson's quote. Everybody has a plan to beat me until they get
punched in the mouth. or something like that.

Do this year’s transfers, both those who were recruited and those who were not (to the anguish of many on this board) indicate BU has learned some lessons from the Mark Smith, Clark and Epps experiences? Can those lessons ever be truly learned when a great talent who is also a potential cancer is available?
This is the Penn State model from last year - get the best guys from a mid-major team as role players.

FYI: Twitter now requires people to log in to see tweets. As someone who will not be getting an account, one line summaries when people post tweets would be appreciated going forward.

@Dan cc: Dan since he often posts links to informative tweets with no additional context.

(I've never had a social media account, and I intend to keep it that way.)

The inability to open up tweets without an account long predated Musk.
Not true. This is a very recent phenomena.

I should also note that for some tweets, what you mention is true. However, now, you cannot view anyting on Twitter without logging in. This is very recent.

I still can't wrap my mind around the effort he put in last year. This was a guy who had a legit shot at making the league. LaTulip called him out repeatedly last year for having his hands on his knees on defense...coming from someone who claimed they wanted defensive player of the year in the conference.
Yeah that energy drink story is crazy. It's probably hard for NBA teams to pick a guy who stays up all night playing video games drinking Monster even when you're a skilled player.

I think the culture woes and the poor shooting were inextricably linked. In retrospect I really think that Hawkins' poor shot selection and decision making were tied to the fact that other players weren't running the offense, and stuff just went sideways.
His shooting has always been suspect. His percentages freshman year were bad and his sophomore percentages pretty much mirrored his junior percentages. That being said, some of the shots that he took last year were particularly bad. Perhaps that related to other players not running the offense but, it seemed like if he happened to make one of those 30 footers he would invariably follow it up with two more similar attempts.

I'm not sure what's changed. I just know that prior to signing up for twitter last April I had the same difficulty in accessing tweets.
