I've got to give Ty props for his assist to turnover ratio in today's game. I still hate the Ty-to-point-guard experiment.
Did you come here just to take shots at our fans? I counted six posts worried about FT shooting.I am amused by the tone of the board linked to the results of these two games.
First game is too close for comfort and all we get get is “Woe is us! We can’t shoot FT or 3s again!”
This game we win easy and no mention of 55% from the line and sub 25% from deep.
This is more calling out the doomsayers than anything as this is exhibition, early preseason stuff with guys shaking some rust off. Looking forward to a fun and hopefully successful year and happy for the scraps we get until then.
It looks like TSJ’s head is behind Max Williams (not sure if that’s right). Right next to GoodeTSJ & Fletch also absent. Considering Shannon had a cast recently & Domask’s hamstring, maybe they were getting some PT instead.
Free throw % makes me want to gouge my eyes out every year. I just do not understand why Illinois continues to be so poor in that area.Comparing box scores from first 2 games
3's % still poor
ft % still poor
Assist/TO nice improvement in game 2
Rebounds - 2 great performance
It's truly bizarre. It happens with every team in a given year here and there, but year after year for us is odd.Free throw % makes me want to gouge my eyes out every year. I just do not understand why Illinois continues to be so poor in that area.
Kinda expected though when you look who took most of the free throws.Free throw % makes me want to gouge my eyes out every year. I just do not understand why Illinois continues to be so poor in that area.
...because we're recruiting athleticism over pure shooting ability. Start successfully recruiting 5 stars and you'll probably get both.Free throw % makes me want to gouge my eyes out every year. I just do not understand why Illinois continues to be so poor in that area.
Well....3point % jumped all the way from 12% in the first game to 21% in the second, so I'm guessing that % will jump to about 30% in the final game. It's only one game........in a different country....with a different ball....after a 9 hour flight.....jetlag.....sightseeing.......back side of clock.
They bet the over!Well....3point % jumped all the way from 12% in the first game to 21% in the second, so I'm guessing that % will jump to about 30% in the final game.
Comparing our stats to Iowa....they shot 40% from 3 in their first game, but the lightning in the gym was probably superior and brought their own balls. Also didn't do any sightseeing in Paris and didn't suffer from jet lag...maybe they took a cruise ship to France.
